Sure, but this is an event, presumably with a permit. If the permit holder can set the terms, then they can restrict entry to the participants. Keeping out spectators for an undesirable t-shirt would be crossing a line, but someone preaching on a soapbox could be removed for "disturbing the peace".
Literally, no. A permit gives them the right to hold an event, not keep out people from a public event (assuming it's public). I mean, they can try - it's happened before, which has resulted in an entire local police force being retrained because of a lawsuit:

Put a dildo canon on it and it will probably be okay.
I dont know, hasn't a certain political figure bragged about his member? Maybe they would view it as trying to screw the political competition??? 🤔

There is a NDEW event near me this Sunday which is the largest general EV event in the area with some 50-75 EVs present, which is large for a conservative state like Kansas. I had planned to take my Halo Cybertruck to the event but have heard back from the event planners that they do not allow any vehicles to make a political statement. Evidently, they have an issue with the Halo Gauss Cannon mounted in the bed of the Halo Cybertruck - see attached image. I do not see how this makes any sort of political statement unless you are against defending Earth from Alien invasions. It would be like telling someone they could come dressed as Thor but they couldn't bring the hammer. In the words of the organizers of the event they said - "Side shows such as weaponry on your Halocybertruck will trigger a cultural militarization debate among the crowd, and distract everyone from our stated purpose of transportation." Which, for anyone who saw the Halo Cybertruck at the X Takeover that was not true at all. People were asking "Where did you get it?" "How did you make it?" "Can it shoot t-shirts" etc. The BBC even put their show host into the bed to pretend to fire the cannon so they could record it for their show. If the cannon helps attract people to come see the Cybertruck then isn't that a good thing. Look what you can do with a Cybertruck, you can have FUN with it, turn it into a Cosplay character of its own. If you have suggestions about how I can get the word out about this, social media contacts, etc. please let me know! Thanks!

If any story needs to get picked up by the media it is this one!

They don’t want weapons of war, they can deny u enterance. It’s their event, they make the rules. Get a lawyer if u want to push discrimination, otherwise park it next to the event on public land.

If it's public land, they can't keep you out. I would 100% refuse to take out the gauss cannon, it's badass and a silly request. It's not even remotely political.
This is both bad legal advice and morally dubious. If I want to have a Proud Boy event at a public park and I get a license to do that I’m not required to let lesbian antifa social justice warriors (or even one) come and hang out with us.

Do you see how that works? Have you never had/been to a private birthday party at a public park where you’ve paid for and reserved an area?

And if I’m a lesbian and I want to go to the Proud Boy Party and I have my car dressed up with a giant 3D printed Ruth Bader Ginsburg statue in the back it doesn’t matter that the statute is perfectly legal if the organizers don’t think it’s compatible with their event they have a right to decide that.

Me forcing the issue that I have a right to be there and I’m gonna set up a side protest where I invite all of my Notorious RGB pals to come and join me for an appurtenant pity party doesn’t make me a hero. It kind of makes me a petulant asshole.

Sure, I could set up a death metal concert right next to the pre-planned bluegrass jamboree (they’re both music right? free speech?) but again that doesn’t make them the asshole.

Not everybody gets invited to every party. If you have a conditional invite to the party and you don’t want to abide by the conditions don’t go. What’s hard about this?

[Note: Personally I think the truck is cool always have. Not much of a halo guy though, I like Metal Gear.]

What if you just leave it un-erected in the vault as a compromise, that way if anyone asks about it you can just whip it out and show them the badass gun, but at the same time make the political statement guy happy by not “flagging it” around?

If it was me, I would park my truck in the nearest public parking space to the event and just hang out. People will come and check out your artwork.

Let the sissies sulk in their own filth.
This is the correct answer.

Can you go without the gun? The wrapped truck is badass enough the gun’s sort of like the cherry on the amazingly decorated cake.
I agree, just take the gun out of the mounting platform, and leave it in the bed with the tonneau cover on. When you want, you can open the cover. It looks bad ass without the gun mount, so if you really wanna go, just leave the gun in the bed.

OMG, how the US has fallen. A fake gun on a vehicle that is cosplaying as a truck saving humans from aliens in a game made almost 30 years ago is too "risqué" for them. I don't think you want to be part of that club. I do like the idea of you doing your own one-man event just outside of their event.
I've heard that finger guns offend some people...

Girlfriend at Jazzercize, instructor pointed out that the choreography called for finger guns during one of the songs but thought it was inappropriate for the audience to use any type of gun.

This instructor was from Santa Fe, NM so...

FWIW I decided not to go. I had too many other demands on my time to take my time to deal with people who only wanted me on their terms, so I skipped the show. I was productive doing other things and will display the full setup somewhere else in the future.

There is a difference between being a vendor/having a display at an event, and preventing the public from coming in. The permit holder definitely has the right, in general, to determine what can be displayed, although they can't discriminate based upon the legally protected classes such as sex, religion, race, etc.

But they can control the content exhibited by participants, for example, they can prohibit gasoline powered vehicles, stainless steel vehicles, yellow vehicles or those with a message of peace or war. It really is up to the event organizers what is displayed, for the most part. As it should be.

But yeah, pretty short-sighted to exclude a Cybertruck with a laser gun to fight off aliens. It shows how hyper-brainwashed people have become.
