The auction is next Sunday @Crissa, so unless the delivery event is between now and then it will be delivered before the delivery event. I have never heard of an auction where the item being auctioned wasn’t on site and on display at the auction. Have you?

Nowhere in the auction does it say when it is delivered, or if it will be present.

I have never been to an auction where the item being bid on wasn’t present. I do not recall the OP posting the official auction. I’ll go look for it now. In this case I would prefer to be wrong.

I went to the Petersen gala page and they say that there will be a live auction but nowhere do they say what is being auctioned, let alone whether the items will be present. It may well be a hoax.

I worked for a company that had a “no resale” type of clause in their contracts. Then a guy came along with a business model that was all about dividing up or subdividing the product and reselling it. THOSE contracts were different than everyone else’s.

I would bet a large amount of money chickens that not only is the museum’s contract different than ours, but that Tesla is donating the CT to the museum for the auction. Possibly a thank you gift for curating the exhibit.

Charity auctions half the time you're just bidding over vouchers to get you to go to the business and get the thing - or services which couldn't, you know, be there.

Anyhow, the announcement just says 'be one of the first to own' which probably just means a day-one reservation. Like the other raffle I linked to.

C'mon? EBay is not a live auction. Go to the Petersen Gala website. They clearly state 'live auction'. I apologize for not saying live auction in my camment, but I have never 'gone to' an EBay auction and neither has anyone else. Sheesh :-(
