What tests/videos should Tesla make for Cybertruck launch event and for media to use?

I would assume Tesla is focusing its efforts more on supply generation, instead of demand generation
Their website has zero updated/accurate photos or videos showing the production cybertruck or available accessories. It will need to be updated before and at delivery event.

The Alaskan testing ground picture is the only picture you can officially get from Tesla's website that shows no door handles with mirrors. That's under the Tesla Gallery page and I don't even know how to navigate to it from their homepage. The mud and water photos if you click on quarterly reports and look for them.

Tesla had time to post the April fools crash test video (78.8mil view on X) and seat test video. They are making videos of Optimus, a product they will not sell for years! They post media and mini commercials on twitter/X every week of other products and features. If the delivery event is in less than 60 days, they should be working on new contain now for at least the website if not X too.

I am sure that whenever this handover occurs someone will canonize it on video :)
Or make a reaction video where they summarize the video and add nothing.

But they will get way more views and take all the ad revenue

Advertising and raising excitement too early, may serve to extend the waiting queue, and perhaps provide the motivation to slow down orders by raising prices.

Even with cancellations, they have enough orders already.
We were given specs, we see pictures. It seems the CT will be close. They themselves have gone through a process of finalization.

Only recently they produced a production candidate. Some things may still be subject to change. Should all this play out in public ?

If major changes are still a strong possibility, that's not good with a proposed delivery event within 52 days. We were given a lot of proposed specs, concept photos and pricing at unveil and almost 4 years later, no-one is sure what they will be delivering on.

They need to keep people (beyond this forum) interested in cybertruck or they will choose the competition, especially now that the SC network will be available to them. If someone does choose the competition, it could put them in a poor financial position once cybertruck becomes available.

My point was not saying tesla is complacent.

We carry on like a pork chop whenever there is a nuance to deliberate on.

Let them go about their business, and when its tied up, they will release it to the world.

Right now, of course it is the fans who are ordering it.
Most of the world doesn't know it exists yet. And it doesn't have to yet, we are sold out for years.

On the video side, they should hire whoever produced the Ford Bronco premiere.

I liked your idea #5.. but do a rally racing run. I think they've already mentioned they wanna do the Baja 500!

Though i already know the first video i am making of mine: grilling dogs in the back while floating in the middle of a lake with flags, poles, and hoes hanging off the side.

With Tesla sound system, something like this will get a lot of rednecks interested:

Tesla needs to put out some quality (non-potato cam) media of Cybertruck. I want an all out meltdown of the internet on a weekly basis.
  1. Tug of war with the competition.
  2. Ascending the huge sand dune (Elon's Idea)
  3. Load/unloading of cargo at capacity vs competitor
  4. Towing the starship to the launch pad
  5. Matt from Demolition Ranch shooting Elon's Cybertruck and Elon shooting Matt's F150 Raptor
  6. Highway rock test on windshield (I dont want to spend another second at Safelite)
  7. World Series commercial: Baseball hitting the driver's window like a foul ball as a kids baseball game.
  8. Superbowl commercial: Parking lot tailgating in a Cybertruck
  9. Christmas commercial: Santa (Elon in suit) driving the cybertruck (wrapped as a sled) with the reindeer being pulled on a trailer and presents stored in the vault
  10. Moab and Rubicon Trail for offroad & rock crawling
  11. Launching the Cybertruck off the Glamis Dunes
  12. Moose test
  13. 0-60 and quarter mile versus a Porche, Corvette and maybe a new Ford GT (numbers are the same)
  14. Simulate a hail storm on a cybertruck and F150
  15. Tank Turn
  16. Auto Hitch
  17. Trailering with AP/FSD
  18. Sandy Munro taking it over the logs
  19. SpaceX engineer using boat mode to cross water from San Padre Island to Boa Chica
  20. Elon going Back to the Future but hitting 69 mph
  21. Crash Tests
  22. Interior noise test
  23. Camping with Space Camper
  24. Show Cybertruck pulling a trailer through a V4 and/or MC stall; showing rate of charge
This!!!
Especially number 12!

@newwave1331 these ideas are beyond cool! and a lot of them ! KUDOS to you for writing them down and sharing them here. some consultants would charge many $$$ for this... you should get a symbolic credit on your CT... like move ahead 10k positions in the RN queue :)

I am sure some would eventually by deprioritized due to tech limitations but the CT coolness will go through the roof. I suspect Tesla has their hands full to deliver the truck and marketing on time ( whatever that time is) ... yet they could outsource the a few of the above to high profile creators who are truck enthusiasts and rip the benefits.

I think with the frunk pictures this week, the spare storage space up there is confirmed not to exist but I’m still holding hope on behind the rear motors, below the in bed storage, hanging from the bottom.
That’s horse shoe shape gives me hope. If it doesn’t make it on the first iteration, maybe in a future refresh with enough feedback. With Tesla sensors, it should be able to detect a blowout and report to them how often that happens.
I would take the extra storage rather than lugging around a spare tire all the time. When I do off-road type things I can throw my spare in the back.. and an off-road recovery kit/patch air compressor can fix 99.0% of issues for minor flats.
