That's... not normal...
I totally realize that and wish I had an explanation for why it happens but it’s functional enough it doesn’t worry me to the point of removing the bar and figuring it out.

Thanks for sharing! Do you know why it's not compatible with 2026 model?
Pretty sure that it is still compatible. The rub is the sail appliques by the roof panels no long have the doors. Tesla sells replacements with the doors online, but you'd have to acquire those two sail applique pieces - one for each side - first.

The wiring is just red/black tied into the roof power feed. It's a 48v light bar so no issues there.

Unless your Cybertruck software took a 💩, It's internal to the light bar. Nothing to figure out unless you disassemble it.

Still an awesome car and still wouldn’t trade it for anything else without FSD. 🤷‍♂️
The rest of the stuff about Tesla is just stuff I choose to ignore because it matters much less to me than either of those things.
I fully recognize there are many people here who don’t share my views but I choose not to see them as “the enemy” because I believe that in itself to be the true enemy of our society.
I come here precisely to hear different perspectives and so we can mutually educate each other.
And because hilarious stuff happens here daily. It’s a great escape and I can honestly say I’ve made amazing friends I fully expect to be lifelong here.

I totally agree with you, the CT is an awesome vehicle, and the camaraderie here is great regardless of opinions. We have one of the best forums.

Sounds about as integrated as the Chinese powered rocker steps or glass roof sunshade to me.
I own both the automatic running boards, which the seller no longer offers on Amazon, and the voice-controlled sunshade. Sadly, the sunshade never functioned properly – it's essentially a nonmoving, nonlit shade that takes up excessive headroom.

The running boards are great and do function as intended without any app control needed, but there is an available app to deploy/retract and lock them out/in via Bluetooth.

Glad to hear that your electric running board works flawlessly. I went through several iterations and troubleshooting of the @Hansshow Technology running board and to this date it still does not work well.

Not worth $2k or $1k. Only benefit is the slim aero fit and native 48V. The high beams put out more light than it does. Baja Design S8 is almost as aero and puts out twice the amount of light(31.7k Lumens) for $800 on sale. I'd rather buy 2 extra headlights and be able to mount them to the roof with highbeams activated. Have to figure how to activate with the right LIN Bus signal though.

This is one of the options I thought I always wanted and am still on the fence. I am interested in hearing from the CB owners of the offroad light. Haven't really seen anything better than the OEM light for all the reasons mentioned. I would like to be able to change the color so I could have a roof top fog light. I don't off road so it would be purely for show and fun. Has anyone run it on the road running it on dim (low %)? Has anyone put a film over it....like a yellow fog light??

The only thing the OE light bar is good for is looks.

I have it on my FS Beast, and it looks good, but not very useful as mentioned here. The one time I used it with my headlights and high beams on in a dark parking garage, I could barely tell they were on.

These are not legal for road use, regardless of dimming level. You will take your chances getting pulled over for using them on the road.

If going off road I would seriously consider alternatives such as the Baja Designs S8 light bar instead. That would actually be useful light and also looks great. Not quite as svelte as the OE bar, but way more useful.

I plan on putting a more effective light bar in the front bumper for when I actually need more light.

A rooftop light wouldn't work well for fog though, even if it was yellow. Fog lights work by being low to the ground so you get minimal backscatter from the beam off the fog.
