The only thing the OE light bar is good for is looks.

I have it on my FS Beast, and it looks good, but not very useful as mentioned here. The one time I used it with my headlights and high beams on in a dark parking garage, I could barely tell they were on.

These are not legal for road use, regardless of dimming level. You will take your chances getting pulled over for using them on the road.

If going off road I would seriously consider alternatives such as the Baja Designs S8 light bar instead. That would actually be useful light and also looks great. Not quite as svelte as the OE bar, but way more useful.

I plan on putting a more effective light bar in the front bumper for when I actually need more light.

I much prefer a front bumper mounted light bar as well. Can you please weigh in on which models you’re considering.
I don’t see any of them that are native 48 V

It will be a 12V light bar. Actually a Baja curved model that will hopefully fit well in the aftermarket bumper from the folks at cybertruckco.

Tsportline do make a 48V curved light bar for the bumper though. Check it out:

Hansshow also make some, but probably not as bright.

One of the best things we’ve added to our CT; especially in winter or poor driving conditions. We also use it 90% of the time at night as it greatly increases the light output and with the amber tint, we haven’t had a single problem.

Do you have to turn it off manually. Or does it turn off after a while when you get out of the car?

You have to manually turn it off from the screen. Waiting for someone to come up with a software hack. Haha

I’m not near my truck right now, but I thought there was a Settings option where you could have the power and outlets turn off with the truck? Wouldn’t that solve this issue if there is indeed such a setting?

Did anyone else get a $2,931 quote for their Service Center to purchase and install their lightbar? or is it just me?

I would address this with customer service. The light bar kit includes everthing enumerated in your invoice. Some knuckle head is charging extra for parts. The service advisor needs oversight and further training.

Spending 65k to have the expectation of exclusive rights to the light bar is wild….
Not that wild. It's like someone putting a GT badge on a Mustang. It just diminishes the uniqueness a little. I don't think it's the expectation of exclusive rights but ... sort of like if China pumped out an exact replica of a Cybertruck for $15,000 and you can't tell the difference. It doesn't change your truck one bit but it changes the perception of your truck and that's part of the joy of owning something unique... Like the Cybertruck.

Yeah. It’s quite unreasonably priced. There is no doubt about that. We will see how many people are willing to pay that.
Based on what we’ve seen of people clamoring for them as contraband, maybe more than you think.
At least it includes installation and therefore probably relocation or replacement with the windshield insurance plan and likely coverage under Tesla warranty, but I obviously don’t know that for a fact.
AND, it follows the contour of the windshield and doesn't look like one of those flat ones across the windshield all uneven and stuff.

Look, I know there are a lot of mixed feelings, but I had the SC install the OEM light bar and made the final connection at home in less than 10 minutes. The lights are painfully bright. If folks consider them weak, I can’t imagine the output. I’ve been wanting these for a long time because I have the crossbar on the roof. Very happy.
