I certainly have had to. The Cybertruck doesn't slow down as quickly, nor is the regen as aggressive as the Model Y. Showroom guy also warned me of it on delivery day (Saturday).
Yeah, maybe put a hood scoop on there to really open it up and let it breathe! lol

Nearly everyone has mentioned that the brakes are undersized for the weight/power of the vehicle.
This topic, thread, and mention are the first I have seen (though admittedly I do not follow everything). By ā€œnearly everyoneā€ is there anyone in the list that is authoritative and has facts to back their position?

The places where it is noticeable are hills where I am approaching a stop sign or signal. Normally (Model Y) letting off on the accelerator did it all. With the Cybertruck I have to add some braking.

My plaid is of the updated variety that had the better brakes so I never experienced what people were talking about with that thing. But I can tell you right now I’ll be getting these brakes as soon as they’re available. I like to drive fast and accelerate and decelerate quickly.

This thing stopping coming from high speed is terrifying! Unnerving! Dangerous. So, I can’t drive it the way I actually want to.

This actually got highlighted in CarWow’s recent video where they were racing the Rolls and G wagon; and that with the significantly slower all wheel drive.

If stock brakes are doing fine why would performance brakes improve?
Not exactly! I would love to have the performance brakes for my Beast. It’s insane how quick the Beast is, even in sports mode. Regular brakes aren’t strong enough for the Beast! If you don’t believe, try launching a Beast and quickly stopping it!

Have done it. 2.5/5 stars. The first half was awesome! The second half was mostly this: ?

lol! That’s why I don’t launch unless I can take off without breaking. 5/5 stars launch experience for me. The trouble I have is in signals or stop and go. The Beast zips like a rocket in sports mode, but the regen is not strong enough to stop, and I don’t want to brake hard all the time. More regen might also solve my problem.

Don’t worry! I kid! It’s always a 5/5!

Like I’ve said all of my cars are fast (except for my FJ) and I don’t buy fast cars to drive them slow(ly) ? for any grammar elons (? couldn’t resist).

The CB brakes like the FJ; it’s not pretty!

My vet is perfectly balanced, and the brakes on my 2023 plaid are perfectly adequate. The older plaids were, apparently, much like the situation with the beast. It’s precisely as you stated - it does not have enough breaking power (if you get after it) and if you do, you’d better know what you’re doing and that you’ve got enough distance to stop.

I’ve got plenty of places where I can go and punch it, but they are all super long, super straight, desolate roads.

No kidding. I got my DuraTracs just in time because my ATs were in the words of the tire tech ā€œcooked!ā€ After just under 6000 miles!

In my defense, fast car go fast!

I’m at 5,500 miles and mine are doing alright still… I’m ashamed of myself.
