Oh heck, I just bought a set.

Air Compressor Ultra won't be out till early 2025 now, gotta wait a few more months to spend the voucher. I want my fancy projection lights now, haha!!

As @AO-Pete stated, I don't think those lights will work. I just pulled them up on my phone and it stated it is not compatible with the Cybertruck. Therefore, I am assuming the size and/or connection is not the same for the Cybertruck and the Model 3.

Oh, they fit, and it's the same connector as every other Tesla vehicle, so most likely it's either current draw or something on the PCB that has to be matched to what CT is looking for. The normal (non-projection) CT door lights are the same as used in Highland.

Stupidly ordered 2 sets as well, such a sucker. I did a quick check and should fit the rears without issue. Tesla is in the business of efficiency so 2 different types doesn't make a lot of sense.

I’ll buy them and let you make some extra coin if you’re interested?

Thanks for the heads up! I ordered these too, but man, at $120K you would think they could include them with the car!

When the manufacturer gets into the accessory space it looks like they are admitting that something could have been done better. Of course we want cool projection lights, we took those crazy puedo welded sill cover plates didn't we?

To really clarify the size question, here it is. Easy Entry height on slightly sloped driveway, front wheels a couple inches higher than the rears.

Well, I received these today and installed them and I have thoughts.

1. Overall, I’m not a fan.

2. Someone asked earlier if they were “useful” I never saw an answer. My answer is: No.

Unless the thing that is going to cause you or your Aunt Edna to roll their ankle happens to fit directly in the outline of the logo you’re not going to see it; because this isn’t going to illuminate it.​

It’s clearly highly engineered and throws light like a laser. And therein lies the rub for a functional puddle light. It’s supposed to light up the area around your feet for safety.​

This is only for flexing. That’s fine, but just know posing is the only thing you can do with these. Sorry.​

3. They are small. As I was posting this I noticed that somebody else had the same idea to throw down some measurements so you guys would know. Mine is also in entry
mode but I got roughly 13.5 inches which seems to be slightly smaller.

Speaking of which, if you’re already catching flack about the size of your manhood because you are driving around in this thing and you’re sensitive to that these are not gonna help the issue you will get teased 100% on your small lights. Get your comebacks ready!​

I think we’ve got two or three threads going with this subject in it and I don’t know where every comment is, but someone mentioned that putting them in is harder than you would expect. I agree with that. They sit at a weird angle and getting the new ones in is a little bit of a challenge.​

I’ve done this on many Teslas over the years mine, my wife’s, my dad’s, my daughter’s and this is generally a trivial matter -less than a minute per light. I think my longest one on this took about 10 minutes or more and ultimately you’re gonna have to manhandle it into position.​

4. They don’t sit right! If you have any degree of OCD or are a perfectionist, you are not going to like this. They hurt my brain Simply put they don’t sit straight they’re askew, cattywompus, crooked- pick your poison.

I noticed it in all the photos that have been pointed but I was hoping that like I’ve seen with some other puddle lights folks had them on the wrong side and this would be OK. It’s not there’s only one way to install them and the end result is as seen in my photos. They should be 90° when the door is fully opened, IMO, and they’re not even close.​

The back is better than the front but still not perfectly straight. You could probably make some minor adjustments by not seating them properly but then I’m not sure that the door would close without smacking them.​

Bottom line I think Tesla has left a lot of room for third parties to create something compelling for a lot less ?!

If I had a time machine I would skip these altogether. As is, I’m going to only keep the ones in the back in place and install graffiti ones in the front when they arrive.

*Another thing a lot of people are saying that they didn’t realize that the cybertruck had puddle lights and now having installed these I understand why, they are ridiculously dim. Whether you put these on or not it’s probably worth it to get a third-party light from one of the many companies that have them available

I presume the led bulb is built into the fixture and can’t be changed to a brighter one.
