Cybertruck pulls stuck semi out with frunk winch (Mission)

He was pretty surprised I pulled his stuck semi out at the campground with the Cybertruck.

It's a frunk winch (Mission winch) powered by a 12v battery mounted in the frunk.

Tell me that's NOT ? ROCKET LAUNCHERS welded to the rear

Ok, First I would like to say, is that's Cool!, and nice job of mounting, from a lifetime Jeep Offroader.
Second I would like to point out the comments about Line snapping and putting people in danger, NOT! What you failed to see is this guy is using Synthetic Rope winch line and not steel cable. IF IT Was Steel cable I would agree, but the Synthetic Rope just drops and does not create the Whip of Death that Steel Cable does. So take it from someone very familiar with winch Very Stuck Jeeps and Hummers out of the Muck. He was fine in that respect.
Question I have it HOW did you mount that Winch? I like it and would like to learn?

I have pulled out many vehicles without a winch a simple tow line to the hitch is my preferred. All things being equal why would a winch be better or worse? I’ve never had a problem pulling people out while driving forward . What is the winch benefit? If I am stuck I see the winch benefit but if I’m rescuing someone why not just pull them out towing? All things being equal? Saves tons of money not having a winch and that 12v battery in drink really makes frunk unusable….i personally have a refrigerator in my frunk and love it. Use it daily

I bet the guy who bought a semi-tractor to haul his 5th wheel around felt pretty stupid for not getting a tractor with locking differentials!

Oh, and I'm still wondering why Braden didn't just pull him out with a tow strap? That would have been the quickest, most efficient way, with the least chance of failure.

Oh, that's right, it's the first corollary of winch ownership:

A vehicle with a freshly installed winch will encounter a much higher number of situations that absolutely require a winch than a vehicle without a winch encounters, usually by at least an order of magnitude.

This is why winches are so essential to any self-sufficient individual. ?

Winch provides better control over force and distance than using a tow line and lets you stopntye pull if something is going wrong (like wheels frozen to ground). Although, the new kinetic recovery ropes make it a lot better.

True, in situations where that matters. The primary disadvantage of a winch is it's slower than the vehicle being extracted can typically drive. The semi was spinning it's wheels, displacing more gravel, and had to wait for the winch to catch up. The simple extraction of a semi-tractor from flat gravel would have been much more natural and elegant with a simple tow and it would have taken much less time to rig and put everything away.

I wouldn't use a kinetic rope in this situation, a regular tow strap would have been better. If the semi was in a much deeper hole, a kinetic tow rope would be bettter.

100% with your note, first thing I noticed coming from offroading world is he had 12k synthetic rope. I am also interested in the mounting. I use my tesla beer cooler daily but I might give it up to cut in that winch. That is a clean setup and winch is out of elements.
