I asked them. Private email. This was made specifically for CT. All their lights and such are either going to have built in converters or run at a native 48v because the only vehicle this line was designed for was the CT/CB. If you want more specifics you can email them and ask but they aren’t giving out too many details yet.

Why would anyone order this winch without specifics. Are they going to run a dedicated wire to the battery? That sounds scary. Are they going to have a dedicated battery? That sounds kind of lame. Lots of people here are interested in a winch and though I appreciate your post I think that ‘they’ should provide more detail about the winch, its mounting, its power requirements and how they will achieve them, and its specs.

Dedicated wire to the battery is normal. But I don't think it matters what kind of lugs are on that 48V pack, I sincerely doubt it can push 5.6kW

I agree. Without a 12v battery bank being charged via converter there is no optimal solution for a winch right now. The perk of 12v systems was the ability to up your battery size for reserve power. A prius for instance sees performance gains from larger 12v batteries due to them being able to run accessories longer with the ICE off. The 48v limits the ability to expand the power reserves.

4Ah means it's one set of ~12-13 cells in series for 48V. Even if we assume they are the absolute highest discharge rate of 30A 45A (which are the most extreme, unprotected cells), that's not close to the needed 117A.

Edited to correct the max discharge for the most extreme, unprotected 2170 cells. Numbers from 18650s were used initially.

Good find indeed. So if you want a winch, you're adding a 12v battery and charger off the 48v system. Hacky. 48v winch buys you nothing given lack of power capacity available.
