We definitely noticed your rig when you were doing that long charge at the Yemassee SC Wendy’s. Very savvy how you pulled in laterally to the charger on the end! Was also very curious about the range, so thanks for the info.
(We brought our Cybertruck down from NYC to Florida—with two large white Golden Retrievers aboard, visiting some sites along the eastern seaboard. 435 Wh/mi highway and local so far, with preconditioning consuming some of that…)

Awesome information and happy to see that more people are doing this. I bought a 30' Airstream and had been waiting for two years for my cybertruck to show up (arrived in November). End of March I will finally hook the Airstream to the CT and go on the first trips. I did not yet order the additional battery capacity as I want to first see if the faster charging of the CT compensates for the somewhat challenging range when towing.

Nice. I experienced the same numbers with our Basecamp 20ft trip through Oregon and California. Also same numbers towing my Willys M38 on a 500 mile trip to southern CA desert. But you're so lucky to have pull through chargers. California has very very few. To help with power I used a 3k watt Jackery power bank with Solar panels to charge the truck while camping and it maintained truck and gave me 185 miles in 7 days camping out.

So can you tell me about the solar panels? Brand, size, mount?

We made it to Daytona after our 475-mile one-day trip from NC! It was great trip. It didn’t even feel like we were towing anything. Smooth.

Average range towing the Airstream Trade Wind 25FB was 147 miles per full charge. Our average wH/mi was 821. We stopped 4 times, for an average of 35 minutes of charging each stop. Went to 100% once. We have our 6-month-old along with us. We’d be stopping this often no matter the vehicle. We used the stops to grocery shop, change diapers & feed, and other tasks

We didn’t have to unhook at any of the stops. They were chosen strategically based on map/satellite data. Columbia SC, Yemassee SC, Brunswick GA, Jacksonville FL. This is a Foundation AWD with Free Supercharging.

There’s a Supercharger across from the speedway where we top off. There are no hookups in the infield at Daytona where we are camped, so we’re running the Airstream off of the truck directly from the 50a outlet in the bed. But the Trade Wind has 40ish kWh of lithiums, and solar, which we use mainly.

Loving it! Incredible vehicle and experience.

When you put in the destination does the GPS account for the reduced milage because you are towing? I would assume it gives you closer charging stations?

You’re in the “zone” with your CT. My boys are 9 and 11; and they would go nuts if we were to stop ever hundred miles for a half hour charge.

Sure, everything Jackery. I've used a few different systems, 1k, 2k 3k and a 5k Power Bank with 400 watt total panel supply to 1400 watts in panels. I placed the panels up on my canopies on the roof rack I built so they were off the ground and clamped them down so the 40mph winds wouldn't' take them away. In the pics you can see my Kammock canopy and a fold out canopy I found on Amazon. The Kammock was so easy to support the panels and easy to deploy. The orange cables are the solar panel power cables going up to the canopies where I placed them. With pass through power capabilities Jackery offers with their Power Banks, charging the truck and charging the Jackery Power Bank at same time it was amazing. Just set the power draw on truck to about 500 watts during the day and saw 4k watts a day using the 1k Power Bank and with the 2k I had about 1400 watts of solar mostly going in and about 1000 watts charging the truck and when I needed more I just maxed out Power Bank to 3k using the truck amp function. I had awesome weather this trip to the desert with 78 degree days and clear skies for 7 days!! I laughed each day with the power I was getting. Money well spent as I am always on the road with work and fun in my Cybertruck. The Jackery 2000 Explorer Plus with cables and 1 200 watt panel cost me $1700 and would recommend to anyone for any purpose as it's expandable to 240 volt output and up to 24k watts which is way cheaper than my Tesla Solar and Wall Battery I installed and don't have to pay FN PGandE True Up Fees. I went on and on but hope this helps.

Not really. I towed our camper now 7,000 miles. Math gets easier. You can use the truck range as a guide but at first it is not very good. No FSD kinda sucks when towing. I have not towed since October and I don’t think Version 13 was even out yet.
My camper is super aero efficient. Averaged 601 watts per miles over the 7,000 miles. It is about 3,200 pounds single axle. Alto A2124 and is 22’

Wasn't aware of that. Are there plans to allow autopilot while towing?

just need to install an extension calbe for the camera to teh back of camper and done. the only issue is the camera is blocked by camper/trailer and it states that on the screen when you attempt to use FSD.

I start with the ABRP app, and I set my average consumption with the camper to 820 wH/mi which is what I know I typically average on the high end. The app spits out my rout and charger stops. From there I research each stop on Google maps satellite view and read reviews, and pick out the stall I want. Some supercharger stops don’t provide a good opportunity to keep the trailer hooked up, so I look for another one nearby. I know there’s always the chance I’ll have to unhook.

Of course, all the research in the world doesn’t matter if your key stall is taken or the charger is busy. So, it just is what it is. Unhooking doesn’t take that long.

We made 8 stops on this round-trip, at 6 different superchargers. Didn’t have to u hook once!
