To me, your offering is a scamScammers and random brokers need not contact me.
Turo is not for 1 year or 6 months, time frame, The Turo model is meant for short term rentals, so comparison with Turo does not make sense. There are different ways to look at it. At less than $275/day it is well under the novelty Turo rate. The idea is to offer the exclusivity and first mover advantage to someone who can afford it and is interested in that.
I totally love your idea and actually want to do something similar. I also thought about renting a room on Airbnb with free use of my Cybertruck. I have 5 day one reservations and one FS on order in NM. Keep in touch and let me know what “lease” or arrangement works best.As pictured, I just picked up my Cybertruck. The intention was for this to be my daily driver for the next 10+ years. Both the price and exclusivity of the car makes me reconsider that plan for the time being.
Since I don’t have any desire for a side-gig as a Turo host, I am prepared to offer the car as a long term rental for 6-12 months to defray the purchase price. I have specific thoughts and terms in mind, but am open to serious offers or ideas. What happens after one year is also something I will consider, but I cannot sell the car under terms of my purchase agreement.
The vehicle title is unencumbered; the odometer has negligible miles; the truck is in “as new” and “as delivered” condition.
If you are interested, please DM me forthwith. Location is in North Texas. I'd prefer to keep it in the area so that I can be available for any warranty issues that crop up. The vehicle was delivered without its rubber wheel cover, but otherwise it looks great.

InteWhat buyout amount are you looking for at the end of 1 year lease?100k for 12 months; 65k for 6 months is my initial thought.
It's probably whatever dollar amount OP expected to make after pretending to try it out as a daily driver, and then scalping it to make a profit claiming something just didn't work for him. I bet OP thought he could flip it for double, and instead of just not taking delivery, the scam is to try to make back the value of the truck in year 1, and then resell it for like 70k at the end of the "lease". Super sketchy, I hope nobody bites.InteWhat buyout amount are you looking for at the end of 1 year lease?
Yeah I need to know who they are too, I have some magic beans to sell. Please keep us updated if there's someone dumb enough to do this. I think there is, but if you could include a pic of that dummy id love to see the face of a moron.
I am not sure on the asking price to lease/rent but what is so different then buying a CT or any other Tesla to run a robotaxi fleet. He is not flipping. So much vitriol. I'm neither a scammer or a scalper in any traditional sense. There is really no reason to throw shade.
I purchased and drove my OG Model S P85 in December 2012. I would still be driving her today except she got totaled in a hit and run in October 2021. We placed an early deposit on our model 3 for my wife, and we got her as our second Tesla in 2018. I placed my Cybertruck order on day 1, minute 1 because I'm a Tesla enthusiast.
I have about 340k miles behind the wheel of Tesla's, and I paved the way in the early days by stopping at RV parks to get enough juice to finish road trips. My current daily driver is a 2017 MS 100D that was a "new to me" replacement after my P85 was hit. My wife uses the M3 as her daily driver.
I am able to keep and drive the Cybertruck, but it just makes financial sense to consider options when there is a clear gap between supply and demand. I'm happy enough driving my Model S, and I don't feel any compelling need to be the first person in my town to drive the CT. I expect that I will own and drive her for 300k+ miles over the next 10-15 years and beyond.
I believe there may be people who have the means to pay a premium to play with a new toy when it is scarce, and I have the ability to make that happen for them and offset a price that is a lot higher than what I originally expected. If you aren't a fit, for that, just skip the post.
The pricing I am offering is far below Turo. I'm not suggesting that it is a direct comparison, but it does provide a frame of reference. My current terms are as follows:
1 Year @ $96k ($267/day)
6 Months @ $58,500 ($325/day)
3 Months @ $36,000 ($400/day)
I understand that is a hefty premium. It might make sense for a business who wants to wrap and advertise. It might make sense for someone with a collection of much more expensive cars who doesn't have a "hook-up" at Tesla. It might not make sense to anyone.
We will find out soon enough.
Geez louise. Lease to own I'm guessing?100k for 12 months; 65k for 6 months is my initial thought.
This is almost exactly what I was going to reply with. Turo is a service for short-term rentals, not 6 months or a year, so to compare the price to Turo is a little absurd. I am sure some super rich person won't mind paying $100K for a vehicle for a year and never own it, but I have yet to meet a person like that...Turo is not for 1 year or 6 months, time frame, The Turo model is meant for short term rentals, so comparison with Turo does not make sense.
You may find someone with stupid frame of mind going to spend, 100K for yearly lease.
It only takes one ?‍I am sure some super rich person won't mind paying $100K for a vehicle for a year and never own it, but I have yet to meet a person like that...
Maybe that's it. I was looking at what seemed like a normal medium term rental scenario and for how long the exclusive novelty/premium might last, and my walk out purchase price. To be fully transparent, I have been approached by people looking at a lease with option to purchase idea. That is not my goal or my ideal.I am not sure on the asking price to lease/rent but what is so different then buying a CT or any other Tesla to run a robotaxi fleet. He is not flipping.
I ordered 4 with that intent. I wanted to retire in early 2025 and build a fleet of 3 to run on the RT platform that Elon himself invited us all to use. Elon spoke of 35k net profits if you opted in.
I think the reaction comes more from the 6 to 12 months aligning with when you can sell. Seems like a flip might have been plan A at one time and this is the pivot.
