I placed my original reservation (2019) for a trimotor, because that was the variant that got the longest range (500+ - hah!). Now, it looks like the all-wheel-drive version has the longer range. So I’m very confused – is my original tri-motor order now an all-wheel-drive or a beast?

hoping Tesla won’t “force” me to buy a beast with lower range because I originally placed a tri-motor order to get the longer range ….. hopefully they will allow us to reconfigure our order as either all-wheel-drive or beast when our order # comes up, given that they changed up all the specs dramatically.

I am worse than you. I thought that maybe, because they put up a new order page with new variants, perhaps @cvalue13 was right about them throwing out the reservation list, so I put in an order. THEN, because my ‘new’ order didn’t acknowledge ’which’ variant I had ordered I went back, checked off the dual motor, and ordered again. So now I have 3 reservations when yesterday I had one. The good news is that the new reservation numbers are much, much higher than my first one (which was around 250K), so when the dust clears about the reservation numbers I can cancel two of them. A very confusing day.

perhaps @cvalue13 was right about them throwing out the reservation list,
just to hopefully be helpful in clarifying:

in the past, when they’ve blown up the “pre-order” list, they did so by allowing people to configure if they put in a REAL deposit (eg with Model 3, people had to put down $2,500).

I really don’t know what to make of this $250 change, except the obvious interpretation: it was only $100 when you had no clue what would happen, but now it’s $250 because you do
