It looks like the trailers use wheels that fit a Tesla Model 3 or Y, because they look to be using FastWheels EV01+ wheels that have removeable covers for better aerodynamics. I have a set that I use for my winter tires :)

Every RV trailer roots begin at Teardrop. Teardrops were homemade DIY plywood kits before RV trailers were even a thing you could buy. Teardrop’ll be the last Mohican. Unfortunately, advent of EV’s presage demise of pull trailers. Its been a fantastic run for WGO et.al.

200kWh of batteries in a trailer is just dumb and wasteful. Even 75kWh seems overkill for the size of the trailer. Obviously don't understand how to do slipstreaming aerodynamics.

Yeah, not sure why in an 'EV' centric trailer you would make the wheels track wider than the tow vehicle.

And if you HAVE to have fenders, you could make them a LOT more aerodynamic... as well as have wheel covers...

And a tear drop works because it is so aerodynamic (half of a raindrop or tear drop), but this is... like the designer could not make up their mind about making it look like a cybertruck or more aerodynamic...

And why make it taller than the tow vehicle when being towed?

I would have been more impressed with 50kWh battery pack, some kind of anti-jack-knife tech, and that it fit exactly into the 'window' that the tow vehicle makes. Then have some kind of expanding or such to make larger if you need more interior space. There are several options: popup, tilt up (my favorite), and slide outs.

Seems to me like it's a compromise design between what they can make and what's aero.

Half aero is still better than none!

There will be someone who likes that particular trailer, who must travel to places where the last charging station is the vehicles range capacity away.

I guess if they sell 1, that's 1 more than me.

Struggling with the weird mish-mash of oddness on this site.

  • Funky looking build which looks like something someone DIYed.
  • Weird, low quality grainy video (this is 2022, not 1990)
  • Unreasonable specs. 75 kWh battery on a teardrop trailer????? Why Even?
  • Safety. This thing has perhaps 1-2mm of aluminum or steel plating underneath protecting a bunch of battery trays (see photo below) remember the first Model S battery fire was from running over a road hazard?
  • The first version is something this guy built in his garage and likely has no concept of how to bring it to production. The 27’ version is quite clearly a render and very likely lacks even detailed plans.

It’s a very very cool garage project. I’m not sold on carrying around monster battery myself though. Also not sold on these guys being able to get to production.

Honestly… I like the polydrop trailers a lot better.

id rather buy another Tesla and tow that for the price, lol
That's why I ordered two CT's; a three motor and a single motor rig for backup power and camping tools.
I wanna set them both up for solar charging off grid long stay.

Another thought. The tri motor tows it up the mountain, the single motor tows it down the mountain.
