Like I said, cameras are cheap and tough. They survive accidents on Teslas all the time.

Indeed, they are very tiny and tough, basically the same camera you have on a smartphone. You can break them with a direct hit, but if the fender gets ripped off, it's likely to survive. It may be a challenge remounting it and aligning it correctly, but I think the vehicle kind of expects them to be in imperfect orientations.

They're more like a gopro than a smartphone, but yeah. ^-^

Yes, apparently there's some number of miles a Tesla needs to drive to 'learn' the orientation of its cameras, and if they get off kilter, it starts the process all over again.

Yeah, when you drive it off the lot, it takes 30 miles or so before AP/FSD becomes available.
