I did luck out here - I did have the foresight to have a manual transfer switch included on my house when the electrical service was installed. So while it won't just take over automagically I can manually plug my CT in to power my house for an extended outage. Come to think of it I do have put a new plug on my generator cable though (my last one used a twist lock connector instead of NEMA 14-50) ...Throwing in the Powershare equipment on the FS was what did it for me. Mentally it would be harder for me to justify spending over $6,000 to get home battery backup with a Non-FS truck.
When the power goes out, it would drive me nuts knowing that I have 3 days of battery power sitting in the garage and no way to harness it. I know in reality I'm still paying full price, but it won't feel quite as substantial when I cut that check for $3,400 to the electrical installer.
