Hello everyone,
I am very excited to be driving the Cybertruck but noticed that there are some cosmetic damages done on the cybertruck after I got home. The bed of my truck has a dent as well as a chip from something fell on it. The metal underneath is now exposed. I just got this truck yesterday and only has 22 miles on it.

Can anyone advise on what I should do?

When I picked up my model 3 LR I believe that I could report issues like this up to 100 miles after pick up for them to fix. If I am remembering correctly, would be worth asking a question in the service part of the application.

Thank you. One of the problem is that the Service Center is not available until July 17. Does that mean I can’t drive it until then?

Yes you can continue to use the vehicle. Create a service request in the app, include pictures and describe the issue. It is now documented. You can pick a service date well into the future, which is what I recommend with all the work they are doing on the recalls right now.

Please let us know if they are able to replace single blades of the tonneau cover, that would be an excellent feature.

Thank you! Might be a dumb question but have to ask…. I shouldn’t need to pay for the damage right?

Immediately report to Tesla for repair. For cosmetic issues you only have 100 miles or 7 days whichever comes first. After that you accept the cosmetic damage as yours.

This an example why one should do a thorough walk-around before taking the vehicle off the lot.

Ideally, both owner and Tesla service should take vehicle photos right at handover/delivery. This way if something minor is noticed later, one can verify if the damage had already occurred while the vehicle was still on the lot.

As for this damage, IMO it is minor, so some 'truck' guys would just shrug it of as there is likely going to be similar or worse damage under work truck usage.

However, if one is particular (we have every right to be), it helps to have proof the damage was already present before the vehicle left the lot (with pictures as mentioned above). That could determine who pays. However, if the damage causes too much revisiting in thought or lost sleep, just get a new tonneau cover (whether you pay for it or Tesla pays). Looks like something hardly noticeable unless one is within six feet of the truck.

You could also just use some touch-up paint on the small dent gash near the edge, as the other dent seems much less noticeable.

No you do not need to pay for warranty work. However when they do the service appointment they might list a price for the repair. I notice this more when they schedule mobile service. Do not panic, that doesnt mean you have to pay. They simply list the price until it is confirmed a legitimate warranty issue, then it is set to 0.

Key factor will be their determination if the damage was present at delivery or likley happened / could have happened after you drove off the lot.

Highly recommend folks do a full single continuous video walk around of the truck at delivery. Make sure to get the SC, any paperwork and an employee helping you (if possible) in the video. This way you have documented evidence if you miss something and discover later.

When I took delivery I asked about the 100 mile rule and was told that's not really a formal documented limit. Rather that it was more about the above determination.

All that said, I've noted here, and elsewhere, significant differences in service and interpretation of things from one SC to another.

I had hail damage on my CT tonneou cover that i didnt notice until an hour after i got home. I made a service appointment and also went back to the location where i picked it up and made sure that they noted that the damage was there before delivery.

They will fix the damage free of charge mid-July.

I suggest you open up a service ticket and also go to the location where you picked it up so that they can confirm that they'll fix it free of charge.

I reported my cosmetic damage at 500 miles about 4 days in, and they had no problem with repairing it.

Thank you for this. If you don’t mind sharing, what was the cosmetic damage?
