you have no idea who I am so I will let your incredible ignorance on that slide

those are not facts. internal installation crews are simply doing employees FIRST because of the very tight supply
Wow

Gateway v3 has a mini sub panel in it. All the backup loads you want connect there.

For my case I have 400A service, that’s split into 2 200A breakers. I will be backing up one of the 200A breakers plus moving a few loads from the other 200A bus to the gateway. Mainly AC and upstairs lighting.

‘My guess is gateway v3 is not yet ramped and shipping. And the PowerShare software is not baked yet as it’s been a low priority for CT launch. Maybe we will see the first PowerShare installs in Q2 as they get the hardware ramped and software ready.

My understanding is that if you have a Powerwall 3 you don't need the gateway as it's included in the Powerwall 3. So the universal Wall Connector is wired directly to the Powerwall 3 (earlier Powerwalls do not include the gateway). Is this correct?

Also I believe one of the reasons for the 200A requirement is that the wall connector will draw 50A or more for charging the Cybertruck (depending on your choice of max A). Power going the other direction is lower though.

I read through the Gateway v2 manual to better understand what to expect.

You need a gateway to disconnect from the grid and power the house. Otherwise your Truck is driving power back on to the grid. Same goes for powerwall. Gateway manages these connections automatically.

Gateway v3 has specific PowerShare circuitry that allows it to operate in a V2H mode directly without a powerwall. Gateway v2 does not support this mode.

I am guessing if you have a powerwall with gateway v2 it can work with the truck without upgrading to v3. But if you want CT only with V2G you need a v3 gateway.

For the majority of new CT owners they won’t have a powerwall already, so they will need gateway v3.

There is a chance that gateway v2 won’t support a wall connector to home at all (v2h). In which case existing powerwall owners have to upgrade to get that feature.

So on the 200 sub panel is that for critical circuits for the house?

This is what I found on the Tesla Powershare site: "Installation With Powerwall and Wall Connector
No additional installation required if you already have any Powerwall system and hardwired Wall Connector. Through over-the-air firmware updates, your Powershare vehicle can intelligently work with your Tesla hardware to extend backup power and duration."

It sounds like you might not need the gateway if you have a Powerwall.
I'm confused.

Sounds correct as powerwall 3 has a lot more integration. But I hear it doesn’t work with third party solar.

But I guess if you have a gateway 2 with uni wall connector it still works as the car acts like an expansion. But probably will not work in its own unless you have a gateway 3.

Anyway - hope I get PowerShare installed before fire season as they do rolling blackouts.
