We all know what would have happened to Sales of the CT if Tesla had publicized their "Free Supercharging for Life" pricing in mid to late 2024. Sales of the CT would have TANKED until the added benefits kicked in. They held it under wraps until they sucked all the sales they could and then threw it out to entice NEW sales. Unfortunately this is typical Tesla. I don't think I have read about any other major car company that changes their vehicle pricing so much.

I do love my CT picked up Sept 11, 2024, and yes, I got sucked in. Had I known about the added "Free Supercharging " coming for orders on or after Dec 27th of course I would have waited.

I would like to see Tesla offer free or a purchase option for ALL Foundation Series Cybertrucks for Supercharging.

Tesla did compensate, $2,500 voucher for the Tesla shop for even early Foundation Series. Early Beasts also got a Powershare install credit.

Thanks to the ridiculous Qmerit quotes I got a generator inlet installed instead with a manual lockout switch for ~$800 and then bought a cable with 240v pins on one end and which connects to the generator inlet. Poor man’s powershare for $1,000 all in. Got a spare tire, accessories and merch with my shop credit. no complaints.
True that beast owners got installation credits and some got vouchers, but that isn’t the same as what I was responding to. What I don’t think is true is: “Powershare = free lifetime supercharging.” It isn’t worth arguing over; we aren’t going to get it.

Dispelling a common misconception, the price was NOT $50K higher.

It's both political parties printed dollars at a ridiculous rate to fund the mounting Federal deficits and interest on the mushrooming debt which meant that in just five years each dollar was worth considerably less than when the original unveil happened in 2019. Price stability, long a hallmark of US policy and practice, was quickly evaporated.

So was Foundation Series pricing higher than the unveil indicated? On a real basis, also yes due to the inclusion of FSD, lifetime connectivity and an accessories bundle as well as Powershare.

On a nominal basis, it was even higher. But comparing real dollars is the only valid comparison over time.
True. $50k in Nov of 2019 has the same buying power as $61,300 5 years later.

It's also easy to see why those who put down a $100 deposit when they saw the planned price of $39,990, $49,990, and $69,990 could not follow through when they found out the actual price 5 years later. Which is at least a small part of the reason there was a huge waitlist that didn't turn into actual sales.

If nothing else maybe some people on the waitlist (like myself) took advantage of the $1k discount that Cybertruck reservation holders got off other Tesla vehicles. That alone was worth the $100 refundable deposit. That was a nice perk.

How many of us are there?
IMO we need to pressure Tesla for the perks they gave as demand dropped. I understand we will still be out a ton of money since Tesla dropped the price, lowering resale. But maybe we can get connectivity and supercharging.

Maybe trade in my still on order lightbar?
I like free stuff. But I’m not holding my breath. Isn’t Tesla bailing on the truck anyhow?

If you look back at the first release of the FS and the credits that the customer got after purchasing you wonder really who the heck was running the show????

Credit to purchase from the TESLA Store only could be used on a SINGLE ORDER! What was it $2,000 AND THE MAJORITY of items were OUT OF STOCK. Who the heck thought that up??? Fortunately someone with a brain straightened that out but it took TIME and caused a boat load of CONFUSION!!! Not something you want on a new product introduction!!! And the Power Share confusion...

I got an AWD CT in Sept 24 rather than the Beast so I wasn't pulled into all the confusion about the Power Share ordering or reimbursement. What a fiasco that was!

Crazy that Tesla is able to engineer the best electric cars in the world but fall flat on their face when it comes to marketing.

comparing real dollars is the only valid comparison over time.
Or instead of comparing Teslas to dollars, compare Teslas to Teslas.

2019 price, Model 3 AWD Long Range (310 miles): $50,190
2019 price, Cybertruck AWD Dual Motor (300 miles): $49,900

2026 price, Model 3 Premium AWD (346 miles): $47,490
2026 price, Cybertruck AWD Dual Motor (325 miles): $79,990

In 2019, Tesla indicated that the Cybertruck AWD would be priced about the same as a Model 3 AWD. How did that work out?

If that were true then, since PowerShare doesn’t actually work, maybe Tesla ‘should’ compensate us somehow. But I don’t think it is true.
Obviously can‘t speak for your experience but PowerShare is flawless. Recent power outage here in FL and that worked like a dream. Cost me 3K to install but the alternative was a 15K generator…so this is awesome.

honestly, doesn’t make much sense.

Model 3 launched in 2018 and Tesla needed to recover the capex as quickly as possible if you recall. Those prices, and pace, gave birth to Model Y and beyond.

Florida is a different energy market. I am glad it is working for you. Even southern and Northern California are different markets. To know for sure whether PowerShare works here I’d need to hear from someone using PG&E with a similar setup (I.e., non-Tesla solar and a backup generator/transfer switch) for whom PowerShare is working.

Tesla Cybertruck Foundation purchasers that did NOT get lifetime free supercharging and connectivity 1771341655511-mk

I did not receive Free Supercharging. Nor do I expect it.

Picked up my FSCB, aka Fluffy, on Aug 17th, 2024 about 33,000 miles ago. (74% or so FSD since the release where it keeps track. Not a lot before that).

Replying to my own post because... reason.

Question: Of the 6,197 FSCB sold, how many are still owned by the original owner?
Answer: Fewer than 6,197 though I have no way of knowing how few.

Question: Of those people, how many would actually use free Supercharging on a regular basis?
Answer: While there are probably a few, I would bet most charge at home.

It would mean a lot to the original purchasers if Tesla was to "gift" them us free supercharging and would show the company understands and appreciates early adopters.

However, it seems a little unreasonable to expect a company to do just that.

However, I did once find a lower online price for an expensive saw I had just purchased from, let's say, a depot that carries home supplies. I didn't open the saw and went back and asked if they'd honor the lower price. No. So I said, "I'd like to return this saw." Turned to my wife and said, "Order this exact saw from their online site for store pickup." They relented and gave me the difference in price back. That's a one-off deal though (and they have a price match guarantee).

Tesla does not have a price match guarantee. Though, it'd be nice if they did. Maybe 2 months at least? But only because they are so volatile and it would really show they care about their customers/fans.
