AP and FSD require fleet data training with the proper camera positions, there are simply not enough Cybertrucks on the road to provide enough data for FSD. I believe this is also the reason Semi does not have AP or FSD enabled.
there's that, as well - but I suspect it's an "in addition" rather than an "instead"

I'm a bit confused by the $250 price for the Foundation Edition. Does that mean those opportunities in addition to the $100 reservations? And, does it mean you'd get the invitation even if you don't already have a reservation, or is it an invitation on top of your previous reservation?

It doesn't seem right to me that invitations would go out to anybody that doesn't already have a reservation.

rightfully so

completely unclear to me how these all interrelate in terms of priority, access, etc.

in particular, i dont fully understand having a pre-order type of reservation for the foundation series at all, really

The 20k price jump for the foundation is crazy. Definitely just a premium to get the truck sooner, without any added value at all relative to the Cyberbeast.

One may argue that these might be 'collectable' in the future, but Model S Founder's Series models (even the first 10!) don't fetch any kind of premium over regular models of the same year.

this is just basic be-first-special-edition stuff

lots of people, like Serena William's husband, wouldn't blink at that sort of be first special edition premium

if someone receives the invite to buy a Foundation model, and thinks "why would I pay this premium," they arent the intended buyer

Yea, I feel like this played well for Tesla.

Today, the shareholders aren't afraid of the hemmorage.

In January/ February.... the customers are excited again because the price is a bit more palatable.

I'm excited.

Do the math on previous "founder" series vehicle prices. It'll be okay.

If it's inspired by the Foundation TV series (the genetic dynasty was not in the books), can we hope that it also has Nanobots to self heal any damage????

this was a book well before the TV show. I’m a big fan of the book, much less a fan of the TV show.

What about books that don't have movies?? /s

Seriously, in this case the books are far, far better than the movie/tv/manga/comics/cave drawings or anything else that derived from Asimov's original work.

Certainly, you can forgo the books. Certainly, it's your loss....

i'm a little confused by your comments

it seems you've bought into the xwitter idea that the current pricing on Tesla.com is for foundation editions, and that the "real" retail prices will be lower

that is not the case

the retail prices are on the website

the foundation edition prices are higher than what is shown on the public website. the xweet posted early in thread, showing the $119K MSRP for tri motor Foundation unit is correct.

or am I misunderstanding your comments?

xwitter is the worst
