What do you mean by power
Line and outlet button?
There is a a 48v power source operated by the “outlets and mods” screen. Max 400w as I understand it. Is there another harness in there I don’t know about?
I think the best way to put plugs in the frunk then, especially to run anything more substantial than 400w, would be to get a power station with a solar input under 400w and that can accept over 48v and then just connect it to the frunk power supply with an xt60 or whatever the solar input of that power station happens to be.
Then you’re only limited by the size of the inverter on the power bank.

That video doesn't talk about putting in an outlet. I want something similar to what is in the back, or in the cabin, just 120v don't need 240. Is this possible?

So has anyone added power outlets to the frunk yet?

please share with photos

It was a big surprise that Tesla never put an outlet there, but has a power line and outlet button for it
Yea this is another featured that was missed.
Would have been very easy for them to put a 120, 12, 48 volt plug in the frunk. Almost all the other truck EVs have them and it would have made accessories super easy to power.

Yeah sure but I don't in mind paying for a shop to get it put in. Is it even possible?

Yeah. You could have them wire in a 400w inverter and stick it under/behind the frunk tub and then bring out a plug in the frunk. It would run off the frunk power feed. Depending on what you get you might also have to use a buck converter to go from 48v to 24v o 12v

Hemiarch’s advice is spot on.

You can easily purchase a solar generator that can be powered by the frunk accessory feed (possibly requiring a Buck down-converter) and that solar generator can have both 110 volt, DC, USB, and possibly 240 volt outlet options.

If you buy one make sure it will fit size-wise and that it’s input wattage is less than 400 watts, or use a Buck down-converter to limit the draw on the truck’s 48 volt accessory feed because if you exceed that you will trip a digital breaker.

Ok so I need to buy a large battery in the frunk? That's kind of a bad solution. I don't want to take up space in the frunk. I can't just have a outlet off the power feed?

There are 400W 48V inverters if you have light duty power requirements (<3 Amps). Input capacitance might trip the circuit on startup though.

No one said anything about “large.” What was said was that you should size it to meet your needs.

A solar generator includes the inverter that you would need to accomplish the physical requirement of what you are asking for. I doubt that there is room for an inverter underneath the frunk’s “tub.”

Good luck!

Hmmm ok thanks for the input !

I wonder if it would be easier to just run an extension cord to the frunk instead fron the rear outlets lol
That is pretty easy to do also. I have an extension cord routed that way for a cabin fridge.

Many people have chosen to use a solar generator because the truck shuts off its AC outlets whenever an AC charging cable is plugged into the truck.

There is the 48v outlet I was thinking of putting an inverter behind the frunk then putting a 110 outlet into the frunk wall.

Just odd they didn’t add a plug but put the power wires there.

I will wait a year and see if I still want power up front. (I do, but will wait to see if worth the time and money )
