What is wrong with the current setup that they would need an improvement? Anyone know…
There is no issue.

However, one of Tesla's primary goals is safety as we know. So, if they can control this pinch sensor with software, then i could see them tweaking the sensitivity a bit more to over-compensate for doofs who could find a way to hurt themselves or their children with the power frunk mechanism.

If you haven’t seen the many videos, if you put something like a finger on the edge where the frunk closes, it will currently chop it off. They intend to fix that. The Cybertruck light show shows us that they can control frunk position and opening/closing speed so they ‘can’ do it.

This whole thing was typical nonsense and FUD that’s been in the playbook since early on with Tesla. The frunk was never going to chop a finger, extremity or any other appendage off. Carrots are not equivalent to humans. I think people have no clue how hard it is to chop a human hand/finger off.

Perhaps, but getting a finger caught at the top of the frunk would at the very least be... uncomfortable.

I'm not testing it lol

Darn! I was kind of liking the fact that there were obvious dangers if you did something stupid!

I felt like a kid in the 1960's again! Now they are going to take that away from us.

This is why we can't have exciting things sprinkled with danger! 😢

For sure. But there are probably 20 daily things we come into contact with that can do exactly this. It’s silly.
