Tesla started selling CT nine months ago and charged $20,000 extra for FSD and other minor things. Is it ethical to charge that amount for something that Tesla was not able to deliver at the time.? It is obvious that the software development has been finance with our money. I think that Tesla should compensate us for the delays and inconveniences is causing to CT owners. I wonder if we will ever get the software update. Please stop lying about dates of delivery.

I'm excited for FSD just like everyone. It is amazing on our M3LR.

I don't want it half baked though.

Also, this is just my opinion:
I was not misled about FSD and CT. It was clear to me the price I was paying and what I was getting. I don't think that entitles me to compensation. It was clear it was coming in an OTA later and I still gave them the money.

Ashok is pretty right on with his timing. Just a little longer.

All of us FS folks were told prior to taking delivery that FSD would be coming ‘later’ OTA. We had to agree to that prior to proceeding with our orders.

I’m not sure how much ‘later’ is too much though, haha!!

I'm just saving this to cut and paste every time another post like this gets made.

Tesla was upfront that FSD would come later. And if you know Tesla or Elon at all you are very aware that soon, or any other estimate is likley very over optimistic. No one put a gun to anyone's head and made them make the purchase. When it comes to this, or anything else someone thinks should have been included with the foundation series release (committed or nit), everyone had the option to wait until everything they wanted was available. If you didn't, it was your decision to move forward when you did. Tesla made a smart business decision and said, here is what we can offer you now and here is the price, take it, or wait, or cancel your order, totally up to you. With so many fully informed people more than willing to accept their offer, at that price, and take the truck as is, why would they delay revenue, and continue to incur costs and wait? For those wanting more, FSD, or a lower price, just waiting is no different to you than Tesla delaying release. Why should those of us more than willing to take truck as is and as offered have to wait longer so you don't feel (unjustifiably) cheated in some way?

I don’t think this is a matter of compensation for ‘non delivery’

But I’d be happy for Tesla to give us compensation for helping them to develop and improve their products, like FSD.

imagine this headline:
“Elon Musk is giving $20,000 in Tesla stock to all Cybertruck owners who fulfilled their orders before August 2024 as a thank you.”

This would also be cool to see the reactions of all the people who took delivery after August that are trying to rub it in that they got wheel covers and light bars. ?

Pretty sure they are going to wait until the city and highways are combined and that hasn't happened on 12.5 yet. Once that happens then it will be closer.

I was never told that the FSD was not installed in my CT. As a matter of fact after I got the vehicle and noticed that it was not installed I returned to the store to ask about it. The Salesman told me that I would get it within a few days. Still waiting.

And it wasn’t a $20k add. Plenty threads/posts about this, multiple posted by myself so just search that.
We all signed up for the same thing and after almost 4 months behind the yolk, never once had any buyers remorse creep up on me.

No date was given for FSD until very recently, a couple weeks ago, and it wasn't a date but a month.

On the Tesla ai road map it listed Cybertruck FSD for September. Since you seem new to Tesla, I will save you some frustration, expect some time in October for CT FSD.

When your VIN was assigned, you had to acknowledge that certain features would not be available at delivery and would come in a later update. Waiting sucks, but every significant technology update from Tesla has brought the same feature delays. I don't remember the exact amount, maybe $140ish, but I got a check from a class action settlement about FSD delays from my 2016 Model X. Tesla took a different path with the Cybertruck, you didn't buy FSD, you bought a Foundation Series CT that includes FSD when it is available.

Relly should read the paperwork they give you to sign when you drop 100K+ on something. We all signed an acknowledgement specifically about this. This on top of it just generally being well known FSD was not coming with delivery.

$20K in stock would be fantastic, however realistically I would be happy with a $100 gift card. :)

Thank you for you clarificación. My mistake not to read small prints. Tesla will have to Change it’s position once the Competition start delivering . I love Tesla products but the delivering of vehicles and service sucks.
