Used FSD to drive to dinner tonight. There is a point in the drive that 2 highways merge. The road I was on has a stop sign and blinking red lights. Nav even shows a stop sign on the map. Crossing traffic does not stop. I thought ok, it knows we have to stop. But…. FSD had no intention of stopping there. I waited and waited for it to slow down, and finally slammed the brake, invoking ABS to stop. I’m sure it would have blown right through it.

That was a bit scary.

Found the following image on google so ignore the text. Is this the scenario? I have only been at a couple of these and it ran the light one time, it was at night and no one was in the immediate lane I had to merge into. Second time was in daytime with traffic and cars in front stopped, so FSD stopped but it did wait for a green light after the cars in front had taken their turn.

This is why you should pay attention as not all scenarios are accurately perceived by FSD, especially ones that are not the norm.

I came across a strange situation the other day where the overhead lights are hidden behind large trees as you approach the intersection which is at a tight angle on a right hand turning road. There was a pole light to indicate the status of the overheads off to the left. I recognized this was going to be tricky for FSD and was prepared for it to fail, and it did. But again, this was a strange unique intersection, and I would have had issues with it too if it weren't for the fact that I'd been through it once just a few minutes prior when it was a green light and I was surprised that they had put the lights in such a weird position.

tldr: sometimes FSD comes across things it simply doesn't 'get', but that means we do too.

FSD still learning, take over regularly.

Direct Sunlight is still also an issue. Went up a turn about and sun was coming up and alarms and whistles rang to take the wheel.

LOL!

Twice (maybe at the same intersection) my CT has stopped at a Red light.
But it has started to roll thru the intersection a second or two before the
light turns green.

Complained using the button both times.

Scary indeed, I've lost faith in the v13 FSD red light navigation.

I have a regularly visited left turn red light that my CT wants to run, and it seems to be in the afternoon when the sun is shining at the light. The screen will show the light go from red to yellow, and FSD starts move. I have had to hit the breaks a couple of times.

I've had FSD navigate though a HAWK signal a few times, and it seemed to get it right, but many drivers are confused by it, too.

RED = stop and wait (like a red light)
RED FLASHING = stop, and proceed if clear (like a stop sign)
OFF = go

It's hard to find an opportunity to test, because it's manually activated by a pedestrian waiting to cross; in that case, there's usually other traffic that stops, so FSD has no choice but to wait its turn.

This wasn’t a visibility issue. 3 flashing red lights and a clearly visible stop sign. Hope they fix this before full autonomy is released. I’m always alert no matter who or what is driving, which explains the deep depression on the passenger side floorboard in the wife’s car. You know, where a brake pedal should have been installed.😱
