The $99 price is another smart business move. If Tesla can increase the subscribers significantly then many of those subscribers get hooked on FSD and don't want to live without FSD. Then price goes higher to market rate. Lifetime FSD is probably a great deal for CT buyers based on today's value pricing.

Are you saying once Tesla has real autonomous vehicles, FSD will still be available without paying what most people will consider shockingly high prices?

I don't see anyone else close to developing what Tesla is on the cusp of.
I'm saying when there is autonomous vehicles, you don't need a car anymore so aurging over FSD price or subscription for future proof is useless. My 4 Teslas including Cyberbeast is $450/month for insurance. They all have FSD, but imagine they don't. That's $850/month for insurance and FSD (at $99/month). I bet when there is no drivers involved in a robotaxi, our family can just use it for cheaper than $850/month. This is not including car payment, electricity, and tire costs.

In the future, Robotaxi will make cars feel like CD singles you buy at the mall. Do people still buy CDs or pay 99 cents for singles? Once Robotaxi is out, I don't even think Tesla will sell consumer cars anymore. It'll be the way of pay phones.

Just take Doordash for example. It's so cheap that our work doesn't even hire chefs to make our lunch anymore. The kitchen is closed. They just gave us an account to order food directly. Everyone gets $40 for lunch. This will be the way with robotaxi. My work already offers $300/month if we don't drive to work. I'm sure Tesla will have corporate accounts, and when they do, most people will have cheap or free rides to and from work.

I had the FSD beta experience prior (6-8 months or so) to the new ‘Trial’ via a couple Loaner cars while my ModelY was in service…

not much has changed.. I noticed still has the same bugs and nuances which irritated me.. hopefully time will tell.

however I agree, I would consider it (as is now) to help with highway stents on road trips. I would call it AdavanceAutopilot++

I enjoyed playing with my free month. Not going to buy, but if I did a long road trip I might pay to see how much it improves in a couple months.

Good revenue move.

… the waypoints do not work the same as my regular Autopilot..

Does not detect when I have reached a waypoint.. keeps wanting to take me back to the waypoint I just arrived to and left.. I was driving circles around Starbucks for 10minutes sipping coffee...and almost late for work😂🤪

Exactly.

For those saying “You know the monthly will just keep going up”…did you see what just happened?

After a few years at $199, they LOWERED THE PRICE by 50%!!
Exactly. It seems Musk comprehends Jevon's Paradox. Crudely stating it, making something cheaper increases demand not proportionally, but by an order of magnitude. Hence maximizing profits?

Robotaxi, omibot, AI, ultra efficient fabrication. The thing Elon does or doesn't understand is that this will kill the self sufficient middle class. Sure we may have some universal basic income, but we won't be able to afford to buy a car anyway. So unless you own stock in a company that grows through this and pays dividends, life will look bleak. An apartment, food, virtual reality headset at best,

Then we could double our population and crowd out everywhere and we will jump at the chance to go to Mars. I think Elon watched Soylent Green as a teenager.

You can use FSD to make money too. If we didn't have musk, we would have two companies trying to destroy drivers, waymo and cruze

I just sold my 2020 Model S, transferred FSD and lifetime supercharging......got new 48 months warranty and the new Y cost me 2k.......happy with it although there are some creature comforts missing in the Y like Sirius XM radio....but I got that solved: bought a used XM tuner from a 2021 model s and installed it with XM magnetic antenna....works perfectly....but, that deal is gone now.....if you buy now with reduced prices, you can get FSD for $99 a month;........1200 annually and for 10 yrs its 12k.....this is a great deal........
