Figured we needed a thread to get to the heart of the matter. This bait-and-switch like move seems like a totally deliberate play in response to seemingly too many 60k Cybertruck orders. They even went so far as to offer a refund of the $250 deposit which they have never done before. It becomes contextual evidence of the fact that this was too good of a deal for them to let play out.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.

Tesla's messaging on this was poor, to the point that their public statements were contradictory. This suggests that they hadn't even worked out the specifics internally.

I believe that if a cogent policy existed, they would have simply stated it.

Going through this process now, FSD Transfer. Even for a transfer within the window and stated rules, this took quite some time and a lot of asking to get an actual contract. I wanted something I could sign to prove the FSD transfer on my FS CT will actually take place. Didn't want to take word of online sales rep (thanks forum pals!) and Tesla finally produced a contract.

One thing for sure is myself and a lot of others are pissed. Tesla is lucky I love the CT so much and FSD also that I don't mind paying the subscription.

Their product has historically been good enough to make the other problems like customer service go away, I feel like some of the recent issues though and quality of the brand seeming to slip could be problematic. I hope the can wright the ship as a CT owner and Tesla investor.
