The only place I have driven in 3.5 months that was NOT in the Cybertruck was an in-laws funeral back in April. The truck was still too novel and would have distracted focus from the life of the deceased that we were there to celebrate and pay respects.

This is a temporary problem, only really a "thing" until there are more Cybertrucks in the wild. In Southern California or Texas, it's probably already normalized enough to not be a distraction.

Take it any and everywhere you would take your other vehicles. If you have to be restricted and have boundaries on where you can take the Cyber Truck, is it even worth owning?

I struggle.

Its difficult to "contain" my love for this truck - Its just so much fun and I'm a first time pickup truck owner... so here's my dliemma:

I would take it EVERYWHERE - but my family is much less showy -minded than I am - so they sometime admonish me to say "its probably not appropriate to take it to xxx"..

Which brings me to my sincere question:

For those who already own one, and recognizing how "visible" this vehicle is (especially on the east coast where there are still so few of them) --

What are the appropriate places you can take it, and where would you NOT?

I have a wedding coming up soon (Indian wedding so epic fun multi-day event with lots of fun) - but not sure a cybertruck is appropriate.. I have other "fancy" vehicles I can take but I JUST WANT TO TAKE MY CT. Is it appropriate? (We're just invitees)

And where is the line you draw? Church / Temple ? Wake?
I guess Home Depot and Picnic are totally OK - but would love to hear your thoughts?

Wedding Yes ? No?
I would take it anywhere i take my car- with one exception: not where you are required to valet park. Valet mode does not teach a newby how to drive the CT.

Its a vehicle. Yes, popular, yes expensive, but honestly, drive it wherever you want. I worry about parking it for days in public places like open lots or high volume garages (mostly due to fear of vandalism given the strong reactions it draws, as well as fingerprints/constant sentry activation draining battery from people touching it). But otherwise, it is IMO a daily driver.
Its not like a lambo that is actually impractical or not functional as a daily driver- which is why i think so many have such a hard time with the price. Its designed like a daily driver tesla truck, but has a super car price…

for example- when i go on a trip that requires a flight, i usually leave my car parked in the casino garage because its free to park. I opted not to take the truck for those reasons above, but it is sitting in my driveway. ??‍♂

The only thing I factor into the equation of whether I take the CT or Model X is security. How secure is the CT while it’s parked? Would I take it and let at a busy airport parking lot for 10 days? No. Suspect neighborhoods with restaurant I’m going to? Not likely. Anywhere near Eugene, Oregon and those freakin’ libs and anti-Elon crazies? Not a chance.

Know your CT’s audience when you park it and walk away.

I wouldn't take my Cybertruck to an "I hate Elon Musk", "Diesel Truck Coal Rollers Association", or "Donuts Under My Bed And Soggy Socks (DUMB ASS)" Rallies. Other than those things, I probably wouldn't take it to a used car lot trying to get a good deal on a car for my daughter...

Otherwise, take the truck. Unless you want to be incognito.
I would absolutely take my CT to all above.

I like to build bridges.

Still a problem here in this part of southeast Texas. The Haters on Facebook and media etc. have gotten to my wife. I agree to some extent. I'm not wanting to be too different than everyone else here, no one but myself here would understand its practicality over ICE pickups. Realistically it would be prudent to wait until the bugs are worked out in production and design, especially wait until FSD is working on it. It does give the appearance of money bags $$$$. Meanwhile locals here spend 80 to 100k for their pick ups.

Agree - sometimes ostentatious but I feel for the crazy tech that goes into it - worth 2x more…. If it had a lambo Ferrari or other badge it would be 5x with slightly better leather and crappy UI and electronics…

I live in Dallas. Everyone acts like it’s no big deal already & I’m fine with that. My only exception would be a valet. I’m not handing my beast to a valet.

Hey Man,
You now drive the most advanced vehicle in the world. And it looks crazy awesome. Take it everywhere. I am in Montréal visiting, and people have ignored a Lotus Elise and posed with the CT.

Also, I am an Indian by origin, the only problem in an Indian wedding will be your truck will get more attention than the bride and groom. But that’s their problem.

Finally, I am posting shorts on YouTube (TeslaWatts) from the sentry cam just to show the excitement and positivity the CT brings.
Happy Driving.

My advice to you?

You do you, don't worry about what others think. Be a leader, not a follower.

You picked a 6000 pound, 600 hp truck as your first truck?

Dear god.

In your overly-elated state obviously loving the attention, try to keep in mind this isn’t your Prius and it doesn’t handle that way. More space, more time.

I’m terrified of you first time truckers owners who thought it was a good idea to buy a full-size truck. I see a few of them driving around here and it’s so painfully obvious. Please be careful.

I just have to add, what exactly are you asking? You seriously have issues about where you think your truck is appropriate? It’s not like it’s shaped like some kind of dick on wheels or a billboard for promoting war crimes. And then you go to the Internet to ask people? This feels a lot more like some kind of flex, but I’m not sure because it’s just so weird.

And before someone goes off on me about not being supportive, please, you put this on the Internet and don’t expect people to think it’s weird/react to it?
