Fair point. So how come I’m seeing posts with people putting air compressor tubing and power tools and all sorts of other stuff on these panels without issues ? What’s different about my situation?
Also, what kind of spring are we taking about here ?
I would take it in and have them address it with the knowledge you have - share that with them.
So at this point you believe it’s the factory components. Just that simple.

So people with frunk molle’s , what are you able to put on there without this happening?
That is with just the panels in the video.
It makes the panels useless if that’s normal.

Yup, mass exceeds the back drive force of the actuator. As it closes, the center of mass gets more leverage so it moves faster.
Makes sense.

Do all of you keep the panels empty day to day?

If my Cyberbeast is parked on a downward slope, my molle equipped frunk would closes on its own, even with minimal load:rolleyes:

Thank you!! You’re the first person who has admitted to having the same problem.
I don’t think anyone wants to admit they spent two to three hundred dollars on a useless piece of equipment.
I mean, it looks cool and all but…..
On that note, the above hood prop works awesome and is a great fit.
I suspect mine will do the same thing after tesla replaces the struts but we will see.

So. It was in fact the struts. Tesla replaced them for me under warranty and now I can hang 12lbs plus the weight of the panels on there in direct sunlight and it does not happen.
Was not sure that was going to work but there you have it.
Still going to use my awesome hood prop to hang heavier stuff on there after I set up camp or workbench or whatever.

Thanks again for your help in making the diagnosis
