I can relate, we did the same thing 18 years ago. I can walk thru the house now and see in my mind exactly what it looked like before the trim, sheet rock, paint.... assembly steps were completed. The part that I laugh about I and only I can see the mistakes I made but are invisible to visitors. Love the wood stove, we only use the HVAC system in the house in the winter to circulate the warm air from our wood stove. Hang in there, the "house broke" phase doesn't last forever, it will creep up on you but you will get a little breathing room eventually. My wife and I built our own house. I'm broke as F#(k. I'm balancing, paying down my debt, hoping my 2004 Dodge Ram doesn't just die, and hoping my reservation doesn't come up till I fix my money issue a bit.
And when I saying we built our own house I mean, we built our own house.
