How to get the CT to maintain a minimum speed on a 80 MPH Limit interstate?

I rarely have issues with this. I am usually around the speed limit or above. I guess I just don't notice it since I'm not having to drive.

I have the opposite concern. When towing or car topping, how to get to stay below 65 mph, regardless of speed limit.
Yep, every time there is a new speed limit, you gotta spin that track wheel down to your max of 65. At least you can manage it. The other way is annoying...

This is my biggest complaint about the Cybertruck. I want it to just be set at a speed, unless I has to slow down to match the speed of a car in front of me.

Also recently I got a loaner from Tesla,Model X plaid, with a governed top speed of 85, and when I got there I would just lose power and not be able to go any faster. I wish FSD would do that, instead of deactivate and not reenable for the rest of the trip. Also when it deactivates, for ā€œsafetyā€œ, it beeps at you flashes the dash and becomes very ā€œwhat the hell is going onā€, at a time that I’m having to accelerate due to something that requires my full attention. Thanks safety.
I would not like the governor approach. There are times I want to floor it, and I don't want it limited to 85. Wouldn't it be better if it just shut it off temporarily where you could take over and then resume when you get back to FSD speeds? This would have to make sure you wanted it shut off and are ready to take control. There are occasional times where FSD itself ends up hitting 86 briefly, but it seems smart enough to not make a fuss over that.

Yeah I was put in the penalty box a few times this last roadtrip for flooring it beyond the 85mph limit...had to remember to disable FSD first and then floor it. Ironically, a couple times were due to FSD completing a pass before I was completed clear of the vehicle the CT was passing, so I floored it to avoid cutting them off, then get red-hands and a time-out

I agree with most of you that Tesla needs to improve their control of the desired speed we want. I have not tried the offset speed setting, I will on my next drive. However listening to Ryan McCaffrey on Ride the Lightning, the Tesla and EV podcast, we should all send in a report of why we discontinued FSD each time it occurs. "Because it will not maintain the desired speed!" If we can get enough reporting that this is a concern we have Tesla may correct this issue.

That would be so much better, and i have no idea why they do it that way. I floor it to get around all the time, and because it drives in comfort mode in FSD, I know i have to disengage before i floor it. It’s very easy to just oush the button and disengage. It’s when Im cruising around, and just kind of creep over the 85 and get penalized. It would be so much easier to just limit me and i would know To disengage.
The irony of the system now, is i have to pull over on the highway, or take an exit and remerge into traffic, all more dangerous than just staying on the road and having to reengage the FSD.

I find that vague top speed quite annoying too. I want to be able to follow cars in the fast lane up to 85 without harassing them to let me by. The old FSD did that just fine, the new one cannot and constantly have to do it manually.

We have to somehow teach FSD that the speed limit is the lower limit, not the upper limit. That silly computer.

Could this be their way around not having the current/correct speed limits 100% of the time?

All CTs have TACC.
I’m in the middle of building retaining walls & planters boxes using a lot of 10’ long pressure treated timber, so the tailgate is down when I’m hauling wood back from the lumber yard, thereby forcing me to use TACC because FSD doesn’t work without the tailgate camera.

I have found that TACC is significantly more responsive in a positive way, to speed limit changes & scroll wheel input.

I’m retired & rarely in a hurry unless I’m making a long road trip down I-5 to visit relatives in Central Cali. As a result when driving locally I keep the truck in Chill mode, which acts more like GRANNY mode because FSD is so slow to increase speed, even under perfect conditions & hardly anyone else on the road. Just yesterday, I signaled to move over into the fast lane about 1.5 miles before a fast lane off-ramp interchange to get on I-5 in Olympia. FSD twice ignored my input even though there wasn’t anyone else near me & so I intervened & then submitted my report.

Why Tesla can’t make FSD act more like TACC, speed control wise that is, is something I simply don’t understand.
