Please cancel your orders if you guys are offended. We wouldn't want you to be sad. Also, I get to move up higher. Truck is super cool and I can't wait to get mine. Finally saw it in person yesterday.

So yes, I hope more people cancel to be honest.

If you buy it and keep it for a year, you can sell it.
Is that true? Is that the case with all Tesla cars'? Seems illegal. If I buy anything tangible I should be able to resell it at any time.

to be fair, others don't proactively attempt to make themselves pop super-stars
i think it's a little disingenuous to equate musk to every other corporate exec
Really? Let’s assume that he IS “proactively” attempting to do that. What is the crime against humanity when someone tries to become famous or popular? PLEASE tell me, because I want to put every one of the Kardashians in jail for it! (And Taylor Swift, Paris Hilton, 95% of YT creators, and that’s just the beginning)

Morally, I don’t care if someone seeks the spotlight, as it pertains to their right or wrong doings. Personally, I think it’s a little disingenuous to judge right and wrong based on the person.

If you sign the Tesla Sales Contract, then you have agreed to keep it for one year (assuming this language makes it into the final contract).

Ok, so let me ask this question. What company(ies) do you do business with where you like everything that everyone in the company does and/or believes?

I’m going to assert that this is quite a bit about our not very limited visibility of all that surrounds EM, and how little visibility we have into most other companies and their leaders. There are people everywhere in every company with someone doing something you might not approve of. Are you ready to write them ALL off?
When you are a major public figure and run a major brand it matters what you say and do.

I'm gonna say... no not really.

The "one year" language was found in the Model 3 sales contract under a "Cybertruck Only" clause, but no one has seen the actual Cybertruck Sales Contract yet.

That would depend upon if you signed a legal contract (Purchase and Sale Agreement) and what the specific terms were that you agreed to.

Always read contracts before you sign them, or you may breech the contract (go back on your word). It's pretty simple really, if you don't like the terms, don't enter into the agreement!

yes, he dates pop-stars, buys Twitter has his personal mouthpiece, etc. there’s really no serious or interesting debate around it

strange strawman. Nobody said it was a crime

but make yourself a highly visible public figure, prepare for the downsides

not sure what this means, honestly

none of it seems pertinent to the discussion that was being had

Musk says and does shit that any other public CEO would like be canned for, but gets by on his disproportionate wealth/power and the cult of personality around him.

that a statement of business optics reality, not a moral discussion

Yes, absolutely. But I'm more interested in the overall direction of the business as a whole, and not the foibles of 1 rich dude.
