I was bummed out to see a sea of cybertrucks in the Tesla lot south of Houston

It seems that I am not seeing many out on the road as I did a month or so back - at least in these parts anyway.
I just wonder..... since Maryland is close to DC, I wonder If the Cybertrucks drivers around DC are a bit shy about showing the Cybertrucks.

Same, which is really odd, seems like they were starting to pop up more and more, hoping the Q1 sales numbers for them are decent, we need more on the road to drive down insurance prices, accessories, etc.

As I drove past the Tesla show room on I-45 south of Houston I saw a whole of, really a lot of CTs on the lot (50-75). This is pick-up country down here yet I dont see any CTs in the wild. Should I be worried that they are not catching on here and else where.
There hasn’t been one BEV pickup truck that has been wildly successful in the market. Not the Lightning, R1T or the Cybertruck. I don’t think any of them have cracked 45k sales a year.

I checked CT inventory for my local SC today. They show 27 2024 Cybertruck’s in inventory. It was a mix of AWD, Beast and prior demonstrator units.

I think Tesla needs to hold a 2024 Cybertruck “fire sale” to get them off the books and sold. Maybe complimentary FSD along with the current price discounts would help clear out 2024 CT inventory before Q2 starts.

In 2024, all BEV pickups combined -- including the models listed above, plus the Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and GMC Hummer pickup -- were easily outsold by the Ford Maverick.

BEV SUVs sell -- and they sell globally. BEV pickups, not so much.

I was at three Tesla showrooms this weekend - Aventura Mall, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach. I ordered a 2025 CT (with the tax credit) for delivery this coming Friday. Was surprised to count 36 CT's in inventory at Delray and 19 at West Palm, all available for sale, all '24s without the Fed tax credit. Tesla is going to have to cut those by $10k to move them - below what I paid - $79.9 minus $1k referral minus $7500 credit - $71.4 before taxes & tags - and Tesla gave me a surprisingly decent trade value on my '23 F-150 King Ranch - almost equal to the CarMax offer, but saves the 6% sales tax on the difference. To move those '24 CTs Tesla is going to have to retail them at $70k in my opinion - and even then might not find takers.

Agree if purchasing, although I just leased (likely to buy early but not 100% yet) a 2024 leftover because with the lease you do get the $7500 on top of the $4000 discount....but even then I was debating 2025 as resale will be higher

100% agree that Tesla will need to pull the demand lever again to move 2024 non-FS trucks. My local service center shows 97 2024 trucks in inventory.

I think a $10k discount, complimentary FSD, etc, might be coming soon

It'd be good for the CT cost to be same as a medium priced gas truck. Any idea how much a gas truck costs? Trying to determine the cost on line is impossible. My buddy got the 1/2 ton Ram fully equipped with all the luxury stuff. price was over $100,000.

I suppose 2024's are not selling because they dont get the $7400 rebate or tax credit or what ever it's called.

Enabling FSD transfer again would move some folks.

You can lease for the $7500 cap reduction (like I did and many others). The biggest issue is that the 25s are out and the discounts on the 24s are only $4K.

That's Stellantis pricing for you. That truck is now worth $70K the second he drove off the lot.
