I wish Tesla would design a sunshade for the front windshield of the Cybertruck.

are these needed any more? I used to use one long ago and I see people use them on olders cars, but really on any of my teslas never had a 'sun' while parked issue.

Sure the car gets hot (150+) but I crank the A/C before I get to it... and new car materials are better than old car materials. I also haven't really kept a car over 4 years since Tesla hit the scene... (I used to keep cars 10 years!). But do we need to protect the inside any more? The windshield should block a lot of the damaging UV, no?

I was going to try ordering the model Y motorized shade device and see how much it helps with the CT tool they make one officially for the CT. I have 50% ceramic tint on the front and vinyl wrap from the roof live down to the bottom of the windshield camera housing. For now I just keep the front black nylon/polyester shade folded in half on the dash and put it up when leaving the vehicle in direct sunlight for extended periods.

After a long search I ordered this EcoNour Sprinter van sunshade for under $20. I will give a quick review after it arrives tomorrow. It has nearly 122k excellent reviews.

I know it won’t be a perfect fit but buyers claim the sunshade setup/removal is quick and easy. All of the competing products look too unwieldy to fold, unfold, store, etc.

Interior sunshades are silly IMO. Especially on an extremely large windshield like the Cybertruck in which they are very unwieldly. AND the fact the heat has already entered the cabin. My solution, shade the OUTSIDE of the windshield with reflective material. In the summer I put this on at home and basically anytime I supercharge (yes it doesn't fully cover but 80% is pretty good):

Oh crap looks like they are out of the Large.

I've tried a few designed for the CT but ended up using a spring shade designed for a sprinter van. It's not full coverage but enough to make a difference in NM sun. Its sized so you can deploy in 10 sec and stow between the center console and passenger seat

Even though it’s been a cool summer in Phoenix this year, in past years we have seen temperatures soar into the low 120s Fahrenheit! Have ceramic tint only on my side windows. Front windshield and roof remain untinted, Killer heat here requires more than roof tint, even with Tesla’s newer upgraded version. Purchased these two shades for use during the Summer. Can be removed/reinstalled in about five minutes. Nano reflective tech works great!! Fastening clips finicky but they stay put with no shade drooping. Air-conditioning works far less and can actually keep up with the oven heat load. The windshield cover is huge and folding it up is unwieldy due to its size as noted above. So seldom use it and park in garages or under shade when possible. Plan is to remove the roof shade once the summer convection oven cools down a bit and then reinstall next spring before the heat returns.

However, the two visor sunshades are wonderful and make driving when the sun is at low angles super comfortable. Tesla‘s design of those visors leaves a huge gap and the sun always seemed to be coming right through them. Highly recommend those even if you don’t get the windshield shade.

I love my Cybertruck and plan on keeping it for a very long time. I want to protect it as much as possible.

I have the same setup and can confirm that they work. The large shade is ungainly but for my truck which has to stay outside in the sun, worth it. The two smaller shades solve the problem I had with sun leaking through around the built-in visor while driving. The side benefit is considerably less solar heating of my lap too. :D

As any good Mandalorian would say: “This is the way”. something like XPEL nano-ceramic at any VLT level has overall enough heat/IR rejection that will keep the car cool, and the UV rejection should protect the interior (and your skin!)

Is that XPEL any better than 3M ceramic? I have 50% on front and 5% on sides. Is the XPEL as reflective on the interior as 3Ms? There's moments of driving into the sun where the internal reflection makes it impossible to see out at all with the extreme angle. Good thing the camera has no tint in front of it.
