If There Is No Middle Front Seat Option, Might Tesla Offer It Later? Can One Be Added Aftermarket?

Aftermarket only for liability
Yup, and they will only be “off road use only”

This truck is all about utility, so I don’t doubt there will be an aftermarket option. Can’t be that hard to make seat brackets and relocate the outlets, key card reader, phone charger and usb c below the seat and the rear screen/AC at the seat back.

It all depends if there is a large enough market to justify the cost.

There can be no seat that faces The Big Tesla Screen.
I'm half joking here, but to have a 6th seat, that screen would need to get itself out of the way in the couple milliseconds an airbag deployed.

Not impossible but not trivial either.

No, the airbag would inflate between the passenger and the screen. It could easily be installed below the screen, extending upward when deployed.

I desperately need that middle front seat as an option, as we have 4 kids! Family of six, need a 6 seater. The CT website still shows 6 seats. But EVERY iteration we’ve seen over the past year has that middle seat nixed in favor or the console. VERY disappointed about this, so I’m hoping it is an option or there’s an after market solution sometime soon.
Seems the X is the better choice for you and your family crazy to think it’s cheaper at the moment.

I feel that the inability to mount a seat belt harness anchor on the roof is the issue. Mounting an anchor on the floor is a very poor second choice. Not safe enough I imagine.

This discussion is interesting but the definitive answers to questions about seatbelts/airbags and the middle seating positions (Non-Outboard Seating in "official" speak) can be found here, if you have a need for the final word: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-V/part-571#571.208
