Insurance rejected Cybertruck coverage (post for awareness). Which insurance company do you use?

I’ve never looked into this. Both of my grandpas were in the military, but no one immediate like siblings/parents.

Grandparents should qualify you based on what I seen on the USAA commercials.

I have separate policy with progressive with me as the only driver, this was the cheapest way to do it.

This is what we did with my spouse's Ducati, until I'd passed my intermediate class and was out of the risk zone.

The two carriers they sent me were Progressive and Travelers but I’m not a huge fan of these big box style insurance agencies; thus the reason for my broker I’ve had for 9yrs shopping my policies every 6-12 months.

We happily insure my Cybertruck with Farmers Insurance. No problems.

If you were military, or a member of your family was, you can use USAA to insure your CT. That is who I use, and I have a very reasonable premium.

Yea i was hoping that would be the case with me in FL but USAA quoted me ~170/mo whereas progressive and geico quoted me ~93-99/mo for the same coverage. Left USAA last year when they hiked up my insurance...perfect record... I think they were just trying to get out of FL tbh.

I had Tesla insurance for many years. When the CT was added to the policy it wasn’t that different from previous Teslas we owned. On our renewal last month they raised the price by over 50%. Not a single claim the whole time with Tesla insurance. I figured this was a subtle message that they don’t want us as clients any longer. Shopped around and Geico and Progressive where about 25% more than our prior rate with Geico a bit cheaper (both as the same coverage levels). Switched to Elon’s (not so?) favorite person - Warren ?. Oh well. ??

USAA quoted $218 a month in VA. Clean driving record etc… guess I need to shop around!

State Farm is also providing coverage. Quite affordable too, I am only paying $85/mo.

wha wha WHAT! I am paying more then that for SIX months! And That is with second car discount and good driving record.

I'm an attorney and deal with insurance companies daily. Can confirm that Progressive and Travelers are the only carriers writing CTs in my part of the world too. Travelers is better coverage and was cheaper for me. As a rule, insurers on TV are the worst when you have a claim.

Other carriers will pick up the CT next year as they get more Data on repair costs. More conservative companies will be slower to enter the market and those tend to be the better carriers. Like the truck itself, there is a beta testing tax on its nsurance

USAA in South Carolina is almost double what everyone else is. I've banked there for 20 years, but they've always been high for home, car, boat, etc in my state. I've never filed a house, car, or boat insurance claim in my life.

It all depends where you live.

Curious about your experience with Farmers? We had an accident in May 2024 and we had good luck with a repair done at Tesla Collision Burr Ridge (IL) on our Tesla Model X. A bit of back and forth since there was some 'frame' damage with a front drivers fender/tire slower speed sideswipe.
