Totally get it. I bought my 2021 Model 3 used and probably already lost 5k on it. But I also bought a used Model S and sold it for a ton more when the prices were maxed out so it all works out.
We also bought a 2018 Model 3 LR Rwd new and paid over $60k out the door so I've already donated my share to the mission so will wait this time. Still own both vehicles and are still the best vehicles I've ever owned in the last 53 years of driving.

100% for sure the Tesla’s are the best vehicles I’ve ever owned.
I regret selling my Model S, but I bought a boat and installed a hitch and attempted to tow it to the lake. It just too way too much juice for how far way the lake was.
Sold it and bought a Cayenne diesel to tow the boat and worked great. After summer I sold the boat, so sold the Cayenne and got the Model 3. I absolutely love Tesla’s

It is the same option of $12k FSD for all other Tesla models. So it's $8k diff instead of $20k if you wait for the standard AWD ($80k) + you want the FSD.
But FSD is locked in at $7K for reservation holders, so the difference is $13K.

Where do you see the $7k locked in? I could not find it anywhere in the email confirmation after placing my order 4 years ago, of course not on the Tesla portal.

don't say that! I am 120K behind you...and still hopeful.
This is just a wild guess. It looks like the reservations started around 112740000. They seem like they are into the range of 112790000. My guess would be they have 1500 to 2500 orders out of 40000 invites. So roughly 4% to 6% acceptance. I picked 40,000 because for every person in that range I hear say they didn’t get the email I hear about 3-4 say they did. So they have t hit 100% of reservations in that range.

I also think order acceptance will fade as they get deeper in the reservations. So to get the newly proposed 20,000 Foundation series sales they would need to invite on the order of 400,000 people. So I personally think they will get up just past reservation numbers 113000000 to be able to sell the leaked 20,000 Foundation Series. $100,000 for a vehicle really only fits in the 5% to 10% clubs budget. Or folks making in the $200k to $300k range. Obviously there are those folks that saved or gave some large source of funds but I think that will be a minority for sure. So I think that 4% to 6% range is probably close

Considering 350 people on this site alone have ordered I’d say the take rate for the 200000 is really high. I ordered as soon as allowed and I,m 160000 down. First day orders are mostly people with Tesla,s have more money than average and REALLY want one.

I don’t find any official word in the article for a 7k locked in , if cybertruck price is changed why 7k FSD going to be locked in ?
The original order page for reservations stated explicitly that the FSD price was locked in.

I received the email today (12.26.23) to order the Foundation Series CT. The dual motor version is $100k and the tri motor is $120k. Extended range battery is another $16k. I am not sure how much time I have to decide but I am thinking about it. RN# 112781xxx. I reside in SoCal and I purchased a MY in 2022.
