Key Card strategies

There are a few scenarios where the key card would be best to have with you. Here are some examples I can think of:

• If your phone dies or if you lose your phone
• If you need drop it off somewhere other than Tesla to do some service on your car (wrap, tints, etc)
• If you want someone to access your car for any reason

I know the latter two can be resolved by having them download the app, sign up and then you giving them access but the key card is easier. Just wondering if you should just keep a key card on you or hide it/lock it somewhere in the car such as the glove box with pin code (but not good for the first scenario) so that you can always have it.

3 teslas and I’ve never carried one - maybe I’m pushing my luck? But have literally never used it beyond the first day.
The second two scenarios are reasonable enough, but for lending the car to a friend, I’d still just tell them to get the app ??

Have you ever valeted the car? If so, what did you do?

I am OCD. Always have one in my wallet. If you ever need roadside tow then they need a physical key. Valet as well mentioned above.

I carry one (paired to the three Teslas we have) with my credit card. Easy.

I've never needed to use it (other than for valet or leaving for tint) but if the phone dies, I'll be glad to have it.

I just had a flat and didn't have my wallet (with key card) on me.
So I told tow driver I could remote start it, which I did when he was ready to unload.
I could even track the car through the app and watch him unload it, so he didn't even really need to call for access.
As far as valet, it's a good way to get out of 'mandatory' valet BS. Why let some punk joy ride your truck?

I've also had a dead phone once at the dentist with no keycard on me.
I foolishly asked the front desk for a charger, and when no one had one I just called the wife and she unlocked the car and 'started' it remotely

I have a 3rd party ring which is always on my finger, no need to carry the key or my wallet. Google tesla ring key. Works great, don’t even use the phone key anymore.

I still use the app, just not the phone key part as I disabled it in the app. My car parks close to the house and if I’m in the kitchen it would unlock the car so I disabled it.
If it’s my first trip away from the house it’s scheduled time departure. If im going to be in / out the store quick I just put climate on “keep” mode.

This post confuses me. I assumed everyone just carried a key card in their wallet in case something happens to the phone... Why is some sort of advanced strategy required here?
