Hello, I am about to take take delivery of the last foundation series cyberbeast in BC, Canada.

I had a look at the vehicle and the frunk panel gaps seem to be a bit larger than I am used to. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

According to Service teams, no further adjustments will be made as the panel gaps are within spec.

They are definitely a bit wider than mine but I have panel issues elsewhere. My thoughts are that I have yet to hear of someone getting a “perfect” body CT so it’s a complete personal choice at this point. From what I’ve read online the newer the CT the less minor issues. Having no idea how hard it is to get a CT in Canada I’d say it depends on how important a Foundation is for you.

On a side note, I was originally bummed at the minor issues, alignment of panels, waviness etc for the amount of $$. However, over time spent on this forum and seeing other CT’s in the city I live in, I’ve realized not one is perfect which in a weird way humanizes them a bit in addition to the FSD humanization.

It is as it is. Our FS Beast has more gap than I'd prefer around the frunk, but I never notice it from the inside (nor outside unless trying to)

The fit and finish of the can-trails and fender to hood gap are less than acceptable in my book.

Your SC refuses to adjust?

I would only be concerned if you have uneven/non-symmetrical gaps. No vehicle is going to be perfect.

The edge ends on the cantrails can be adjusted up and down a few millimeters. There is an 8mm bolt about where I marked on the pic. I adjusted mine that way. Hard to tell from the pics the gaps around the frunk area. I would speak to service if they can tighten them somehow.

It almost looks to me like the hood is sitting too high. You can try and lower the bump stops under the hood which would bring the whole hood lower and might tighten up that gap a bit.

Photo angle matters a lot too. Need a horizontal shot versus worse case angle (perpendicular to the edges).

I think it’s beautiful. Minor niggles get resolved over time. The last FS? Don’t take your foot off the pedal till it’s in your garage.

I personally don't care about panel gaps much, but I would say that one is a bit extreme. It looks like the hood is unlatched.

yeah, my CT had a pretty horrible hood; I had them replace it twice. Its not perfect but I can't stick whole fingers into the gaps anymore and it doesn't protrude over the edges of the fenders.

My Foundation Series Cybertruck had a significant panel gap between the Frunk Lid (Powered Front Trunk) and the left front fender panel. The alarming aspect was that the Frunk Lid seemed to be warping, very gradually, over the first 5 months post delivery resulting in significant increase in the panel Gap as can be seen in the attached video. The Tesla Service Center staff were extremely helpful and upon first visit tried to align the hood by adjusting the hinge nuts. The allowable gap range is 1.75 mm -3.75 mm between the Powered Front Trunk and Left Hand Front Fender. After the adjustment the gap again increased. Upon 2nd Service Visit, Tesla replaced the Frunk Lid (Powered Front Trunk). It has been almost 2 weeks since replacement and I haven’t witnessed any warping or increase in panel gap.

I had a 2024 with minor panel gaps. I asked them to adjust it and they did their best but it was still there. They replaced my cantrails twice to accommodate my requests. In the end the panel gap on the frunk was unacceptable to me and I ended up trading in the vehicle for a 2025. I had other issues as well but I talked myself into trading it based on the panels gaps.

The gap is mearly a cosmetic item to Tesla as they say it's within spec but I believe there was an issue structurally as my FSD would not drive straight no matter that they did. I know others on this forum state they vehicle also hit the yellow line on the highway and rumble strips. But once I got my 2025 it was like a 180. Car drove straight and no issues to report at the moment besides the panel gap on the frunk. My service/sales rep assured me they can line it up for me. I have an appointment in two days to go back and have it realigned.

If it bothers you I say forget the foundation series and get a normal CT. See if FSD works well on any of the vehicles you are considering as it is very hard to fix the camera to have it stay straight on the road.

Hope not too many typos above. I am typing this response on my phone.

Delivery service center refuses to adjust and said it is all within spec. Im going to speak to another SC

The direct front view actually seems okay.
