In my opinion for most truck owners, this is still a good value, especially in a lease. Most people don't need AWD, or the outlets or the air suspension. For many people, they need to haul something once in a while, have seating for family, and decent bed space - this is a bargain given the tech and safety you get. And it's still the greatest looking vehicle on the road

It’s definitely not a great value if you’re comparing to existing trims now. You’d have to be an idiot to spend 70k on a RWD truck versus the 80k AWD because it’s a “bargain”.

Most people that don't have a CT will not be comparing to the level that we do. All they will be looking at is the after-rebate price of $62500 or their lease rate.

lets face it, it’s not a bargain at all, just a way to make the AWD and Beast look like a bargain. Similar to the effect of the pricing of the Austin Model Y RWD compared to the LR.

I'm talking about general car buyers that just don't scrutinize the trims in detail. You can make it really easy but people just don't get into the details much. They look at the "creature comforts" the most - if you will. But yes the AWD is a bargain compared to this RWD version, not to mention compared to most trucks in the price range period.

People in the “market” for the Cybertruck are not general car buyers. It’s a niche market. Those people will scrutinize the trim in detail. At this price point of 60k, it will not sell well like the model 3/Y. At 50k pre-credit maybe. Not not 60k.

The option to order the Range Extender is still gone from the order page. And now the references to the Range Extender are also gone from the specs page.

There were formerly two range numbers for each version: with and without the Range Extender. Now the Range Extender numbers have disappeared.

also pretty ballsy of them to not make this $59,990 with all the downgrades. I suppose it’s perfect marketing because the middle one is the only semi logical choice and there aren’t any no brainer choices.
The AWD gets you everything but the noisy front permanent magnet motor and traction skipping noises.

I got the AWD (non-foundation) and love it. I wouldn't be a buyer of the Long Range at that price. An extra 10k for AWD, powered hard tonneau cover, better interior, rear screen, etc? Worth it IMO. I think a better price for the LR would be 15-20k less than the AWD.

It’s still not clear what Signature Headlights are? Is the RWD not going to have an LED Lightbar across the frunk? Or will it just be opaque plastic that dosent light up?

As a 2019 $39,900 RWD reservation holder since 2019 I was hoping for a $60,990 MSRP. I’m still sitting on my reservation.

I‘m a bit disappointed over the price cut as I thought it would be larger than $10k. I would place my order tonight if my Tesla stock was in better shape.

Yeah, it’s actually down to $251.32 pre-market (4/11/25).

Presumably a coincidence, but the RWD Cybertruck was announced on the same day that Cox released the 1Q 2025 EV sales report for the US.

They estimated 6,406 CT sales. The CT dropped to #2 among BEV pickups, behind the F-150 Lighting at 7,187. The CT was #10 among BEVs generally (after finishing 2024 as #5).

So seems like CT sales could use a boost. Obviously the less expensive RWD version should help, but deliveries aren't scheduled until June-July 2025, which may not come fast enough to bump up the 2Q 2025 numbers..

Maybe we'll get a reverse Osbourne Effect? Lots of people waiting to see what the RWD offering looks like. Now they see what's missing and say, "Nah, I guess I should order the AWD."
I think Tesla did a good job of pricing out compelling arguments to upshop. "Only this much more for all of these features." And of course, for the customer who wants it all, the CB is the CB, and price is less of an issue.
