Am I the only one who thinks the target market for this version is as a fleet vehicle. No private individual who is considering buying a CT would consider this model. This trim will be strictly for drivers who don't own the vehicle. Law enforcement, Municipalities, hopefully military.

Tesla could software-lock the additional capacity to limit it to 250miles. They've done that in the past. At least that way they would save the costs from manufacturing/transporting/etc a new, lower capacity pack. Plus, people could pay the difference in the future if they wanted to unlock that range. ?‍♂

WOW! Sooo Disappointing wow, they have taken so much of the good stuff it is not worth buying at the price point given. I have been a reservation holder for over 5 years and it is now not worth buying the Cyber Truck. What a waste of my time and their effort. Gas truck here I come. I really wanted a Cyber Truck but it is not worth 80+k for the better one.

"I am so disappointed! I have been a reservation holder for over 5 years and they have removed so much that it is not worth buying at the price they are offering it at. WOW! just so disappointing."

I am 100% with you. I reserved the $39,900 RWD the day after the reveal in 2019. $70k is 75.5% higher than the $39,900 reveal price. That's insane.

Tesla stripped so much equipment from RWD model that I am not interested anymore at the $70k price point. I predict the RWD model will be a sales dud for Tesla.

I also have an early reservation for the Scout pickup and Telo MT1. I may end up going that route instead.

Unless they are offering steep discounts on bulk purchases, this won't sell well with fleets either. The pricing to fleets on a Lightning is considerably better if a company is looking to go EV. Unless a company wants to stand out with the look of a fleet of CTs, which may have made sense a year ago, but likely isn't good business in April 2025.

Good question. No AWD, no air suspension, no wade, does have rear locker though. Off road can still provide traction modes beyond slippery surface, along with trail assist, camera views, and pitch/ roll readout.

it’s still worth it for sure. The truck is amazing of course you get more for the 79k but 69k with tax credit is a great deal for this truck.

Judging by member responses the RWD model is overpriced by $8-10k. Tesla severely de-contended the truck. They used a chainsaw instead of a scalpel.

Good catch! I definitely think you caught the upcoming RWD trim in motion.

Or just get MORE for your money elsewhere!

“RWD Cybertruck costs over $30,000 more than Tesla originally planned. For that price, you could get a competing *electric truck like an extended-range F-150 Lightning for about the same price.

*The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash starts at $70,190, offers up to 10,000 lbs of towing, and has a maximum payload capacity of 2,235 lbs

?both of which beat the RWD Cybertruck.”
