Has anyone tinted their windshield? Is it worth the $600 cost I’ve been quoted?
$600 is a good price. I think mine was $700 something. Its a lot of money for tint but the windshield is massive and allows a lot of heat into the truck. The cost is worth it to keep the truck cooler.

Yes. It’s absolutely worth it. Spend money on a high quality tinting product applied well.

Has anyone had any issues with their windshield after tinting it? I wanted to tint it but i heard some people say that due to the different composition of the cybertruck windshield it will crack under extreme heat so i decided to tint everything but the windshield which im regeretting because so much heat gets in from the front.

Mine is wavy after tint when looking straight forward. The installer says it is on correctly and I see no gaps but the fact is we’re looking through probably an inch of glass given the windshield angle when looking straight forward, so any small imperfections will be amplified. I plan to have it redone in case it is an installation issue, but am not hopeful.

Note that Tesla went with a much darker roof glass tint starting on the ‘25 models (not sure the date) so the installer recommended not adding any further tint there even though I was prepared to do it. It has not been a problem even in Florida sunshine. I’ve also not had any issues with glass breaking but it is mostly in the shade or inside when parked. I also keep the temp controller set at 100 degrees when parked.

I’ve had a tinted windshield since September and no issues. Love the heat rejection. Cabin cools off faster and makes the AC not have to run as hard. I’m in Florida with routine high 90 to 100s temps this summer.

I have the Xpel prime xr plus on mine. There is a very slight waviness when I look at things off to the side - looking forward it looks clear. No nighttime Star or ghosting artifacts.

My buddy just had his windshield tinted and he had bad ghosting. A headlight would split and look like multiple light sources. He had it removed and a different tint put on by Apterix brand. He said it’s crystal clear now. The shop we went to said they are going to do windshields with that brand since they’ve had some issues with xpel in the past. We both have xpel prime xr plus on the sides and it’s perfect. I think xpel is a thicker tint for better heat rejection but because of the steep slope of the windshield you see more artifacts giving that slight waviness.

No. I wouldn’t go back on my decision to tint for any reason. Hands down best mod I’ve done to my truck. By a mile.

We'll soon release a windshield (and sunroof) film that's applied on the outside. It's like PPF but different material (still wet apply). Not only it protects from chips etc, but also has 85% IR rejection + 99% UV rejection (though the UV part already comes standard with the glass itself). I've been experimenting with this on our cars and find it far better to traditional windshield tint. Downside - won't last as long.
