Can this damage be repaired as a DIY or do I need to take it into the shop to have it repaired. I am hoping I do not have to replace the whole bumper. Or, should I just live with it?

You definitely don't need to replace your entire bumper, that is just a thin aero cover over the bumper.

Hitting it with a heat gun and working it a bit with some heat resistant gloves or blunt steel tool will help it return to it's original shape, just be careful to not melt it. But your boo boo is always going to show slightly, unless you replace the bumper cover.

Sadly I don't think that'll "buff out" well. But no, you can absolutely fix that yourself! It's a "bumper" for a reason, it's meant to take the bumps instead of the body and be much easier/cheaper to fix/replace. Just wear and tear imo! Sorry this happened so early on!

I think I saw previously the whole plastic number is like $700... That plus labor at Tesla won't run much more to replace if need in time.

Its a truck. Its a bumper. I like the heat gun thought however.

Two weeks until we get Tesla vision camera back up sensors?

You can replace it your self with some basic hand tools. But …. The rear Authenticator will need to have firmware update. Can’t do that though the UI

ouch, fix or not depends on your priorities...is it a work truck or a show truck?
$700-800 is pretty darn cheap for a new bumper, but there will eventually be another issue of some sort......

Front bumper on my Jaguar F Type SVR painted and fitted was just shy of $20k if it’s less than a grand I’d say that was a bargain, just replace it.

Tesla told me $550 for the bumper + $65 for labor + sales tax.

I almost had a similar situation but escaped with a small scuff as I caught it as the last second.

This was the culprit while backing in. Was focusing on the alignment and got too deep in the parking spot before looking at the bumper camera angle.

just posted in another thread, but we really need proximity alerts for this massive vehicle... i'd take a bunch of 2 dollar sensors as a foundation series 'perk'

Cover it with some vinyl or some Cybertruck decals
Yes… it’s a truck! Tell everyone you were doing the truck thingy with it like off-roading and what not!
