My charging cable highway.

Friggen ANTS! In the last few days, ants have been using the charging cable as a super highway to the charging cable and charging port to climb into the truck. They are not inside yet, that I know of, but I am guessing they have a sinister plan.
What can be used on the cable to stop their devious plan to steal my Cybertruck?

Call pest control, ants are tough to redirect

I’ve used neem oil and pellets to redirect/exterminate, however I’m not sure I would want this stuff in the garage if that’s where the ct is

Can't you just raise the charging cable off the ground, I believe I've seen someone post a genius idea of using a Horse Cable System from Barn and Fleet and putting the Charging cable through that and overhead..

I guess I haven't done it because I'm too lazy, but the idea is genius..

Also I'm thinking of a garage, I don't know your setup..

Bug Stop is great stuff. I wouldn't suggest it ON the handle, but maybe the base areas/cord, etc. Cheap and does exactly what it says... bugs. stop.

It is crazy that some ants are attracted to electric magnetic fields and often types of harmonics.

Some well placed doughnuts will draw them away temporarily.

Permetherin will make them go spastic and fall off. Just treat the cable like one would treat the exterior of your clothing.

Grants Kills Ants is great if you can find where they are coming from. They take it back to their nest and it kills their fungal farm and young. I make a bottle cap sized dish out of aluminum foil and put 10 or so drops into it. Then I put the dish in the path where the ants are walking.

Terro traps are the bomb and they will lead you to their nest (and wipe it out).

Long-term solution is ant baits, like Terro or Grant's, as others have suggested. But the duct tape should keep the ants off the cable while you wait for the ant bait to take effect.

Put a little glob of this in the path of the ants and they will take it back to the colony and all be gone very quickly.
