Went Friday to register truck in Louisiana. A contest in and of itself, in this one of the most backward places in the nation. The state that wouldn’t allow Tesla to deliver the vehicle in state. Get my license plate.

Ah, the vehicle, presently sold only in the US; doesn’t have a plate allowing you to attach the standard US plate. Go to auto zone to get a standard bracket.

ah, Tesla has recessed the mounting bolt holes so deep that the included bolts won’t reach the mounting plate. Really?

Am I to have to go to Home Depot or west marine to find long bolts that will enable me to mount plate?

Tell me I’m missing some included bracket or that I’ve missed some really obvious fix.

I just installed mine in Cali and had no issues, used the existing screw and it was all good.

I don't have a CT but can see from your picture that the license plate should be attached with self drilling/tapping screws (or drill holes and use sheet metal type screws) at the four locations circled below. The two bolts you removed are to secure the bumper to the frame and nothing to do with the license plate. Apparently your service center didn't attach any temp plate to the bumper or they would have already drilled the holes and provided the screws.

Which brings up the question; Where was your temp plate for the last three weeks?

Let’s be real here, we are all new to the Cybertruck world and for me, I’m sure I’ll have a shot ton of WTF moments since the CT is going to be my first EV. ???

The mounting bracket that comes with the CT is for the front plate. Gently remove the small front plastic panel to access the holes that line up with the included bracket. Then use the included bolts to attach mounting bracket. Then use the included screws to attach the front plate. The rear plate is mounted directly to the truck (without a bracket) using the screws holding the temp plate. That was my experience. You might need longer screws if you want to add an aftermarket rear plate holder. I chose not to.
