Confirmed it’s only a 120v 20amp adaptor. I actually use the 240v bed outlet regularly to power my 50amp travel trailer while dry camping, so for me glad I purchased the FS AWD

I'm curious to see if there will be updates to older vehicles like MX that might have the requisite hardware on board already.

I thought it was a bad choice of Tesla to remove the outlets, but they had a plan all along...

Anyone figure out why there is no add to cart button or Apple Pay button for this?

Understood.

I was thinking “what does this do for CB/AWD folks that the bed outlets don’t?” Seems like this is geared toward the RWD with no bed outlets.
That’ll be my guess. Cybertruck pictured is a RWD model.
  • 18” wheels
  • No tonneau controls
  • Soft tonneau latch
  • No sub trunk

So it definitely doesn’t negate the whole, “no plugs while charging” thing because it’s plugged into the charge port so obviously no charging is going on.
And on that topic, how does that tiny little cable act as a 2400w inverter?(120vx20amp)
Either that’s true (that Tesla has invented an amazing cable based inverter) or at some point between the high voltage battery and the charge port, something is converting the juice to AC. Same inverter that runs the vault plugs now maybe?
What I’m most hopeful for is a power source that can be used with the truck asleep.

AC power is provided by the onboard charger which acts as an inverter.

So do the v2l devices the Chinese marketing machine has invaded my media with over the last couple of months act as inverters or do they do the same thing with the onboard charger?
