How much of a gap should there be?

Of course day 1 of picking up the CT the overhead gear selector falls off. I can put it back up but the two pressure trim clips are too weak to keep it in place during acceleration or over big bumps.

Does anyone know a solution for this or how tesla has been fixing this? They can't get my truck into service for 20 days.

For what it's worth in very happy with the build quality of the rest of the truck. And I love the truck overall.

I got tired of mine falling off and came up with a fix you may be interested in. I drilled holes in the front and put a screw through each side.

There is a very easy and ingenious fix on this forum involving a heat gun that solved mine for good. No drilling; no screw , no new part and no adhesive.
Any of you guys remember a good keyword to find that thread?

Worked well! Hopefully it holds up. Not as hot as Arizona here in San Diego
if it doesn’t hold up (it should) just put in a service ticket they have revised that part (like many others) and I just had mine replaced as part of recent service since I was getting the front camera housing cleaned anyhow. That said, the best service visit is no service visit.

If I didn’t already have the service visit I would’ve done the clip hack too.
