I'd lost my key card and was in processs validating a new card, un announced to me, my truck stopped charging before reaching 80%. I'd thought it was done charging but noticed it was at 52%. Scrolling down the notifications list and there it wa`s: PCS2_A051. Oh crap, thought I was safe because my CT is late model 2025 with 79000 vin and was told I have a Rev G on the PCS module.
So this brings some questions:
1. Is this an intermittent problem because it is now charging up to hopefully 80%?
2. It just so happens that I've finally got a wall charger and installed it two weeks ago, I'd been charging on a 4 yr old non Tesla mobile charger. Is it a coincidence? Are all of you that have PCS failures been using Tesla's wall charger?
3. Is it absolutely only the AC charging that is affected. I have a road trip coming up in two weeks and absolutely don't want to be stranded on I-45 between houston and Dallas.
4. It is VERY dissapointing that my truck did not notify of this problem. Am I missing something in my alerts on the phone, I do get messages that the tail gate etc is open. And being aware that many are having this issue I've been checking the alerts every week or so.

Usually comes and goes at the start, charging to 80% or any other % does not mean you are in the clear.

Power sources does not really matter, if it drops from 48A to 24A that is your primary sign, branded or non-branded chargers.

AC charging is one of the first things to go, along with power share, then other things, supercharging, etc.

Teslas throw a ton of error codes, most of them don't really matter, PCS will show up on screen once it is bad enough you can't AC charge etc.

There will be a model wide recall for the PCS eventually, even the rev Gs are going bad, although not as quickly as other versions. Tesla can't do the recall at this point because they can't currently keep up with the PCS that are going bad in customers trucks.
Some of us have been through two replacements already.

@roadrunner32 i just had this same issue occur on my CyberBeast VIN7G2xxx. I’ve only ever done Tesla 48A wall charger and Tesla Superchargers. Mine just went this week. They’re offering free SC’ing until replacement but if SC’ing starts to fail that’s going to be me driving my old JGC. Service Center tech sent the following, “PCS’s still constrained but we’re through the grapevine that they should be working their way out of that hole.” Not a solve but maybe some resolution on the horizon.

In another thread here, one owner reported that he had PCS2_A051 error after a recent PCS2 replacement.

He said the service center replaced the charge port to resolve the issue. Still waiting to hear back from him if that solved the issue.

I’m getting that error code and I had my PCS replaced two months ago to G revision. Awaiting to hear back from Tesla to why. I have a tentative appointment next month.

How much supercharging were you doing before failure may I ask?

I had the same PCS failure and mine was replaced 06/12/26. If I get a second one, I am trading my CT. Love the vehicle but reliability matters
