In typical Tesla fashion I see the delivery event being bumped to Q4 of this year. As Mr. Musk stated “This is really a very radical product”.

Tesla is doing just fine and Cybertruck’s are still being validated by engineers on public streets and off-road.

Tesla is doing their due diligence and making sure all of the i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed before retailing the truck.

It’s important to remember that Tesla has never designed, engineered or sold a pickup truck before. The Cybertruck will be the first pickup in the Tesla portfolio and they thought outside of the box.

Also, only insiders know where the Cybertruck stands regarding EPA and crash testing.

Be patient grasshoppers. Good things come to those who wait.

It is more than likely that the delivery event will be bumped to October since there has been no evidence, yet, that Tesla has applied for an event permit and they have historically taken a month+ to acquire. Elon's statement that they would announce the event "when they are ready" surely goes against his remarks that it would be at "the end of Q3", but he did later say "early in October." Are you suggesting beyond early October?

Fortunately, you are incorrect.

About it being bumped to the next quarter
The quarter ends in 25 days!

Separately, to ponder:

Now that Tesla is selling tickets to the delivery event, what is the requisite lead time they would give these ‘paying’ attendees to prepare travel arrangements?

The socially polite might think at least a month of lead time.

The YOLO crowd might instead see no issue with Tesla saying, “surprise, be in Austin next week!”

Regardless, in Austin a Tier 2 event (<2,500 attendees on private property) permit application must be made 30 days before the day of the event, while Travis County requires 45 days advanced application.

Seemw would have heard about it if they me made the application yet, as @Jhodgesatmb mentioned

precisely ?

I think folks too easily overlook that Tesla may not be announcing a date because they’ve not yet reached sufficient certainty in their ability to deliver on a date

not that there’s great uncertainty

instead that you don’t take lightly announcing such an event if there’s even minor remaining risk that something could slip

to that point, you can bet there’s a target date circled on a calendar somewhere, but possibly still in pencil
