Since having the recall fix on the wiper (motor swap out) have any of you noticed the wiper no longer moves to the far left side of the windshield location for aerodynamics like it’s supposed to?

My friend has this issue. He noticed after his motor went out and he got the new motor. Mobile service couldn’t fix it. Said it was normal with the new motors.

I have noticed that the wiper parks more to the 'right' (from the driver's perspective) than before.

Interestingly (to me at least, haha!!) I put in a service request for a new glare shield (part that goes underneath the front FSD cameras, covered by the rear-view mirror Beauty Cover) because I broke the two small tabs that secure it.

I just wanted the part (and made that clear in the request. I've done part requests before). But Tesla booked me for another wiper motor replacement and another sail applique replacement.

Same service center, and the last service was the wiper motor/sail applique change. Makes me wonder if the parts have been further revised?

I don’t know if it’s the motor or the software but I took delivery a little less than a month ago and was told it didn’t need replaced.

All that to say that I do feel there’s an awkwardly long delay for it to return to its baseline upright position more often than not.

If you mean the wiper goes on then sits in the horizontal position for about 30 seconds before raising back up vertical, that’s normal to keep water from running up the windshield.

Wow thanks all for the info. And yes mine sits more to the right from the drivers perspective as well. I am having my roof replaced now as we’re speak. I brought this to the attention of the SC so I’m interested in what they say. May be a software fix at some point. I don’t like how it stands out more. When it was towards the left it was hardly noticeable (figuratively speaking lol).

It's funny bc my delivery was delayed, then they told me all recalls were done, then I took delivery, then I took to sc bc of horrible streaks and wiper movement.

They ended up replacing arm, blade, and motor... but the new one had the washer hose hanging out of it bc they broke one of the hose clips on the "new" wiper. Service is beyond sub par.

Ahh, thanks. Wasn’t aware of this but makes sense.

Yeah, I’ve got an appointment next Friday. Mine jerks like it’s having a seizure when auto tries to come on and only will function when I press the button. Also parks maybe 4” from where it did before the replacement. Super noticeable.
My replacement does the exact same thing.

I had the original wiper motor replaced under the recall (it worked fine, but no telling if/when it would have failed). The replacement had the "ticking" issue when in the Auto setting and only moved about 3-4" from normal position, and would not clear the rain when it got heavy, but it did work in all the other "manual" modes.

I took the truck back in for that issue, and they said while it was believed a software update could fix that issue, they wanted to replace the motor again anyway since I was there, and it only took them about an hour so I waited.

The third motor does the same thing as the second, has the "tick" in the Auto wiper setting. But now, every time I hit 30 mph, the wiper moves away from the off position, and sits about 2-3" out of the off position. I'm hoping all of this is just a software update, but I set a service appointment anyway for 8/28 and I'm asking if it is necessary or just to wait for an OTA update.

All in all it works fine when I need it, auto wipers on any of my cars I've had are not great so I don't miss that function and the wiper still works fine in all the manual settings.

Mine did this after getting the new wiper motor. Then it stopped doing it after the 2024.26.X series of updates. The twitching hasn't come back.

Mine does seem to be slightly more to the right, but I imagine that's software.

Same. Took CT into SC for something else, asked about needing a new motor and they said mine didn’t need it.
When I use the wiper blade, I engage it only via the steering wheel and leave it set to OFF otherwise. 90% is parks vertically in correct position. 10% it stops horizontally and then I hit the button again and it parks correctly.
