It’s the nature of the design as well. It’s an angular stainless steel box so sharp angles are to be expected.
I burned my leg once on the side pipes of my stingray now I’m careful when I get out of the car but I do not blame the car.
Same with the CT I cut my finger cleaning it but that’s because I did not pay attention to the sharp edges. Now I know better.
I think paying extra attention is a good trade off for a very unique design.

A smaller cut happened to me when I took delivery.

Also take note of the speaker grill. My CT speaker grill is metal and I have skinned my knee to bleeding twice. It's like a cheese grater.

That's pretty funny! Fortunately, it's just a smooth grill, without raised cutting edges like a grater!

I have an ac cobra and the sidepipes make it hard to get in or out with out getting a burn we call a snake bite, looks like your the first you get to name the injury?

Be careful when closing your cybertruck door!

I parked on an incline, exited the truck and as I was closing the door I manage to clip the very corner of the door against my leg. When I got home the wife said I needed to go get stitches, so I did.

I’m clumsy, so this is 100% my fault lol

I still love the truck!

The corner really isn’t that sharp, I was just lucky enough to close the door with enough force and hit my leg perfectly to cause damage.

Sorry this happened to you. I found these silicone transparent door corner protectors for M3/MY, they look like it will fit on the CTs. I wasn't sure if they are worth it at first but after seeing your close encounter...I'm sold:oops:

I would have bet someone would come up with the idea of Kevlar jeans for Cybertruck drivers and passengers. LOL

I got cut in the same way on day one of ownership. Mine wasn't as severe but it was a bleeder.

There's manufacturing terminology on blueprints that prevent injuries like this. It's written something like DEBURR ALL SHARP EDGES!

After hands-on experience of a showroom Cybertruck, I concluded they're too dangerous. Sharp edges on every piece of steel is unacceptable (my kid bumped his head on our Model Y door and it bruised. The Cybertruck would have cut his head open). I was thinking of designing/building bumpers that attach to the edges of the doors with VHB tape; but that's something Tesla should include as standard on every Cybertruck. Surely they know it's as dangerous as CyberWade experienced.

Pretty common issue with vehicles—I destroyed my shin on my wife’s automatic lowering door step (can’t remember the exact term for it) on her Ford Expedition. I just ran into it as it was lowering. If all the eyeballs were on the expedition like they’re on the Cybertruck, I might have posted the gore. Not really but it’s silly how much attention EVERY LITTLE THING garners on the CT. Negative attention is better than no attention.

DAAAAMN! I figured it was going to be gnarly looking but ? that's way deeper than I was expecting! glad you got it stitched up! Now I'm all paranoid with my little ones. I'm going to have to cut up some pool noodles to put on the edges ?

Hey, if the Cybertruck didn’t rust, you would still be bleeding. It’s the iron that causes the blood to clot. Tesla was just thinking ahead.

Funny part is I just had a similar conversation with Leonard Nimoys / Spock’s brother last week. His wife kept wiping the rust off the drain pipe which had she left it alone, it would have rusted shut. I went on to explain how blood contains iron which causes the blood to clot. Except Spock who had no blood. Then she flashes me the Vulcan hand gesture. Tells me Spock was a Vulcan and had Green blood. Part human, part Vulcan.
Now you know the rest of the story.

Wow! That is very deep! Thank you for the warning.

If my wife sees this I'm done, I am still waiting on my VIN. That bottom corner of the door is rounded and does not look super sharp to cause that type of cut, I would not expect it but for sure something we all must watch for. I guess the big difference when compared to my Ram all of the edges are folded over, rounded compared to the CT having more of a laser cut edge making it much sharper edge. I'm shocked that rounded cut corner was able to cut so deep! I would have expected it to create more of a skin surface scrape then a deep wound.

Thank you for sharing.
