I hope this gets someone’s attention at Tesla.

Wouldn’t kill them to smooth these edges out before assembling the truck.

That or someone will literally sever an artery on one and Tesla will have another big problem on their hands (blood in this case).

I have to say despite how much I really am pro Tesla, the sharp edges on this truck is a bit irresponsible. The panel edges should have all be chamfered. The number of cuts will only grow over time as volume increases. I do not like the thought of some parent of a child that gets cut on the vehicle suing me for harm while my vehicle is parked and I am away. While this may not have occurred yet, I 100% bet it is going to occur as the vehicle volumes increase and CT's become rather common. Not only is this a liability for me as the owner, it will not fair well for Tesla either. The courts wont be very kind either being the incident would be caught on video as well for evidence. Next thing we know we will not be able to park our CT's in parking lots of stores and such that have banned them due to liability on their property.

Go the SC to talk to their staff in person, they can schedule it right away. That was what I did.
Same. That is what I did as well. Super helpful and very accommodating.

Unless the Cybertruck intentionally reaches out to the pedestrian while parked this isn’t going to happen, or at least won’t stand in court. People touch other vehicles all the time and can get hurt by doing that, it’s not the fault of the car manufacturer if they end up hurting themselves while touching that vehicle.

An accident on the other hand might be different.

But this five day wait from getting the appointment to delivery is nearly as bad as the previous 1,600 days combined.

48 hours to go

GAH

UPDATE

Picked it up today!
Woo Hoo!

sloppy, sloppy condition at delivery.
ugh

Windshield (inside) is disastrously dirty.
There’s a smeary film over most of it.
when the sun hits it directly, I cannot see ANYTHING - super dangerous.

Body panels have some sort of splattery overspray on them that doesn’t wipe off - it just smears around.

Hood is covered in the rail dust rust spots.

I’ll BKF the entire truck, so whatever.

A rubber seal along tonneau is flipping loose (service dept closed, so couldn’t fix on the spot).

Wife heard a loud noise while driving a main road (60 mph), so we pulled over to check.
The large upper panel on the driver’s side in the bed flew off and, thankfully, remained in the bed.

Otherwise, it’s great.
Heck, it’s great even with these issues.

The tires and wheels look GREAT in person.

Now… for the ugly.

Two of the Delivery/Advisor employees were with my wife and me as we walked around the truck inspecting it.

I noticed a little pit/divet or something on the tailgate.

IMG_0068.png

I licked my left thumb, and tried to rub the spot to see if it was actually a divet or just some stray adhesive or something…

OUCH! Crap

I jerked my arm back and the employees chuckled jokingly saying this thing can be dangerous.

I, too, thought it was a little slice like a paper cut…

Until the blood started pouring.

A lot of blood…
HOT MESS

WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGE IN SPOILER BUTTON:

The two employees scrambled and took off to find something to help stop the bleeding.

The puddle of blood was more than twice that size by the time I was able to get it bandaged.

After wrapping it up tightly, wiping off, and washing up, I was able to complete delivery.

A few hours passed without bleeding through the bandage, so I figured the gash closed up and it would be fine.

I unwrapped my wrist and BOOM - spurts of blood all over the kitchen island…

which leaves me here, at the ER.

DUDE! This kind of stuff is going to kick-off an investigation and probably recalls! Mark my words, you heard it here first.

It's insane that something sharp enough to do that left the factory after inspection. This is actually extremely concerning considering the number of kids that fawn all over this truck.

I would force the service center to do a full panel edge inspection (at their cost, of course).

WHEW.

I just went out and rubbed all of my panel edges.

They all have an eased edge, almost rounded. Smooth to the touch

Not sure how a dull, smooth edge could create a wound like this.

This forum often gets too zealous about this truck to admit when a serious issue needs to be fixed.
Your profile pic is interesting. Those are indeed sharper than Cybertruck. Do you have a campaign against Legos too?
